The chief priests picked up the coins and said,“ It is against the law to put this into the treasury, since it is blood money.”

文士和法利賽人窺探耶穌會不會在安息日治病，為要找把柄告他。耶穌卻知道他們的意念，就對那萎縮了手的人說：「起來，站在當中！」那人就起來，站着。耶穌對他們說：「我問你們，在安息日行善行惡，救命害命，哪樣是合法的呢？」

因為我－耶和華喜愛公平，恨惡搶奪與惡行；我要憑誠實施行報償，與我的百姓立永約。

你們這瞎眼的嚮導，蠓蟲你們就濾出來，駱駝你們倒吞下去。

妓女和男娼的賞金，都不可帶進耶和華－你上帝的殿中還願，因為兩者都是耶和華－你上帝所憎惡的。

他們把耶穌從該亞法那裏押解到總督府。那時是清早。他們自己卻不進總督府，恐怕染了污穢，不能吃逾越節的宴席。
