經學家和法利賽人要看他會不會在安息日治病，好找把柄控告他。耶穌知道他們的意念，就對那一隻手枯乾了的人說：“起來，站在當中！”那人就起來站著。耶穌對他們說：“我問你們：在安息日哪一樣是可以作的呢：作好事還是壞事？救命還是害命？”

因為我耶和華喜愛公平，恨惡不義的搶奪；我要憑真理賞賜他們，與他們立永遠的約。

你們這些瞎眼的嚮導啊，你們把蚊蟲濾出來，卻把駱駝吞下去。

妓女所得的酬金，或男妓所得的代價，你不可帶入耶和華你的神的殿裡還任何的願，因為這兩樣都是耶和華你的神厭惡的。

清早的時候，猶太人把耶穌從該亞法那裡押往總督的官邸。他們自己沒有進到官邸裡去，恐怕沾染了污穢，不能吃逾越節的晚餐。
