在七日的第一日清早，耶穌復活了，就先向抹大拉的馬利亞顯現（耶穌從她身上曾趕出七個鬼）。

抹大拉的馬利亞和約西的母親馬利亞都看見安放他的地方。過了安息日，抹大拉的馬利亞和雅各的母親馬利亞並撒羅米，買了香膏要去膏耶穌的身體。

安息日將盡，七日的頭一日，天快亮的時候，抹大拉的馬利亞和那個馬利亞來看墳墓。

七日的第一日清早，天還黑的時候，抹大拉的馬利亞來到墳墓那裏，看見石頭從墳墓挪開了，

有抹大拉的馬利亞和那個馬利亞在那裏，對着墳墓坐着。

那告訴使徒的就是抹大拉的馬利亞和約亞拿，並雅各的母親馬利亞，還有與她們在一處的婦女。

抹大拉的馬利亞就去告訴門徒說：「我已經看見了主。」她又將主對她說的這話告訴他們。

這不是木匠的兒子嗎？他母親不是叫馬利亞嗎？他弟兄們不是叫雅各、約西、西門、猶大嗎？

那時，西庇太兒子的母親同她兩個兒子上前來拜耶穌，求他一件事。耶穌說：「你要甚麼呢？」她說：「願你叫我這兩個兒子在你國裏，一個坐在你右邊，一個坐在你左邊。」

還有些婦女遠遠地觀看；內中有抹大拉的馬利亞，又有小雅各和約西的母親馬利亞，並有撒羅米，就是耶穌在加利利的時候，跟隨他、服事他的那些人，還有同耶穌上耶路撒冷的好些婦女在那裏觀看。
