又坐在那裏看守他。

對面站着的百夫長看見耶穌這樣斷氣，就說：「這人真是上帝的兒子！」

他倚靠上帝，上帝若願意，現在就來救他，因為他曾說『我是上帝的兒子』。」

百夫長看見所發生的事，就歸榮耀給上帝，說：「這人真是個義人！」聚集觀看這事的眾人，見了所發生的事，都捶着胸回去了。所有與耶穌熟悉的人，和從加利利跟着他來的婦女們，都遠遠地站着，看這些事。

千夫長立刻帶着士兵和幾個百夫長，跑下去到他們那裏。他們見了千夫長和士兵，就停下來不打保羅。

但百夫長要救保羅，不准他們任意而行，就吩咐會游水的，跳下水去，先上岸；

耶穌進了迦百農，有一個百夫長進前來，求他，

於是，千夫長叫了兩個百夫長來，說：「預備步兵二百、騎兵七十、長槍手二百，今夜九點往凱撒利亞去；

既然非斯都決定要我們坐船往意大利去，就將保羅和別的囚犯交給御營裏的一個名叫猶流的百夫長。

那試探者進前來對他說：「你若是上帝的兒子，叫這些石頭變成食物吧。」

保羅請一個百夫長來，說：「你領這青年去見千夫長，他有事告訴他。」

說：「你這拆毀殿、三日又建造起來的，救救你自己吧！如果你是上帝的兒子，就從十字架上下來呀！」

耶穌卻不言語。大祭司對他說：「我指着永生上帝命令你起誓告訴我們，你是不是基督－上帝的兒子？」

王第三次又派一個五十夫長，帶領五十人去。第三個五十夫長上去，雙膝跪在以利亞面前，哀求他說：「神人哪，願我的性命和你這五十個僕人的性命在你眼中看為寶貴！看哪，已經有火從天上降下來，吞滅前兩次來的五十夫長和他們的五十個人，現在願我的性命在你眼中看為寶貴！」

在凱撒利亞有一個人名叫哥尼流，是意大利營的百夫長。

他們都說：「那麼，你是上帝的兒子了？」耶穌對他們說：「你們說我是。」

眾人聽見這話，覺得扎心，就對彼得和其餘的使徒說：「諸位弟兄，我們該怎樣做呢？」

正在那時候，地大震動，城倒塌了十分之一；因地震而死的有七千人，其餘的都恐懼，歸榮耀給天上的上帝。

獄警叫人拿燈來，就衝進去，戰戰兢兢地俯伏在保羅和西拉面前。然後獄警領他們出來，說：「二位先生，我必須做甚麼才可以得救？」

猶太人回答他：「我們有律法，按照律法，他是該死的，因為他自以為是上帝的兒子。」
