在他對面、旁邊站着的百夫長看見他這樣斷氣，就說：『真實地這個人是上帝的兒子啊！』

他倚靠上帝；上帝若要他，讓上帝如今援救他吧！因為他曾經說：「我是上帝的兒子。」』

百夫長看見所經過的事，就將榮耀歸與上帝說：『實在地、這個人是個義人哪！』所有到場來要看這景象的羣眾、見了所經過的事、都捶着胸膛回去。所有同耶穌熟識的人、和那些從加利利一路跟隨着他的婦女們、都在遠處站着，看這些事。

千夫長登時帶兵和幾個百夫長，跑下去到他們那裏。他們看見千夫長和士兵，就停止不擊打保羅。

但是百夫長的意思要使保羅平安得救，便禁止他們行這主意，就命令會浮水的跳下水去，先到岸上；

耶穌進了迦伯農，有一個百夫長上他跟前來，求他說：

千夫長便叫兩個百夫長來，說：『豫備步兵二百，好走到該撒利亞；還要馬兵七十，輕裝兵二百，巡哨到今夜九點鐘。』

既決定我們須開航往義大利去，他們就將保羅和一些別的監犯送交給皇軍營裏的一個百夫長、名叫猶流。

試誘者進前來，對他說：『你如果是上帝的兒子，就吩咐這些石頭變成餅吧！』

保羅便請了一個百夫長來，說：『請把這個壯年人帶去見千夫長；他有事要報告他。』

說：『你這拆毁殿堂、三天以內建造起來的、救你自己吧！你如果是上帝的兒子，從十字架上下來吧！』

耶穌卻不作聲。大祭司對他說：『我指着永活的上帝誓囑你，告訴我們，你是上帝的兒子、上帝所膏立者不是。』

王又差遣第三個五十夫長帶着他那五十人。這第三個五十夫長上去，屈膝在以利亞面前，向他乞哀求憐說：『神人哪，我的性命、和你僕人這五十個人的性命、願你看為寶貴。你看，已經有火從天上降下來、燒滅了頭兩個五十夫長和他們各自帶領的五十人，現在願你看我的性命為寶貴。』

在該撒利亞有一個人名叫哥尼流，是那叫作義大利營的一個百夫長。

眾人都說：『那麼你就是上帝的兒子了！』耶穌對他們說：『你們說的是。』

眾人聽了，心裏被扎，就對彼得和其餘的使徒說：『同人弟兄們，我們應當怎樣行？』

就在那時就發生了大地震；那城有十分之一倒壞了。在地震中遭難而死的人有七千名；其餘的人都很懼怕，就把榮耀獻與天上的上帝。

看監獄的要了燈光，就蹦跳衝進去，戰戰兢兢，拜倒在保羅西拉面前；又領他們出來說：『二位先生，我應當怎樣行，才可以得救？』

猶太人回答他說：『我們有律法，按那律法、他應該死，因為他拿自己當做上帝的兒子。』

按聖德之靈而說，他是那由死人中復活起來、顯然被立為上帝兒子、具有大能、我們的主耶穌基督。
