然后坐在那里看守着他，

站在耶稣对面的百夫长，看见他这样断了气，就说：“这个人真是神的儿子！”

百夫长看见所发生的事，就不住地荣耀神，说：“这个人的确是义人。”所有聚集见这场面的众人，看到所发生的事，都捶着胸回去了。所有熟悉耶稣的人，包括那些从加利利一直跟着他来的妇女，都站在远处看这些事。

千夫长立即带着士兵和几个百夫长跑下去，到了他们那里。他们一看见千夫长和士兵们，就停止殴打保罗。

可是百夫长想救保罗，就拦阻了他们的计划，命令会游泳的人跳下船，先到岸上去，

耶稣进了迦百农，有个百夫长前来恳求他，

然后千夫长叫来两个百夫长，说：“预备两百名步兵、七十名骑兵、两百名长枪手，晚上九点出发往凯撒里亚去。

既然决定了我们要坐船往意大利去，他们就把保罗和其他一些囚犯交给皇家军团的一个名叫犹利乌斯的百夫长。

那试探者前来对他说：“你如果是神的儿子，就吩咐这些石头变成食物吧！”

保罗请来了一个百夫长，说：“请带这年轻人到千夫长那里，因为他有事要向他报告。”

说：“你这个要拆毁圣所、三天内又建起来的人哪，救救你自己吧！你如果是神的儿子，就从十字架上下来吧！”

耶稣却沉默不语。大祭司又对他说：“我命令你指着永生的神起誓，告诉我们你是不是基督——神的儿子？”

在凯撒里亚有一个名叫哥尼流的人，是那叫做“意大利”军团的百夫长，

他们都说：“那么，你是神的儿子吗？”耶稣对他们说：“是你们说的，我就是。”

众人听了这话，觉得扎心，就对彼得和其他的使徒说：“各位兄弟，我们该做什么呢？”

就在那时刻，发生了大地震，那城的十分之一倒塌了，在地震中死去的有七千人。其余的人都感到害怕，把荣耀归给天上的神。

狱卒叫人拿了灯来，就冲进去，战战兢兢地俯伏在保罗和赛拉斯面前，然后领他们出来，说：“先生们，我应该做什么才能得救呢？”

那些犹太人回答：“我们有律法，按照这律法，他是应该死的，因为他把自己当做神的儿子。”

照着圣洁的灵说，藉着从死人中复活，他被显明是神大能的儿子。
