然后坐在那里看守他。

站在他对面的百夫长，看见他这样断气，就说：“这人真是神的儿子！”

他信靠神；如果神喜悦他，就让神现在救他吧，因为他说自己是神的儿子。”

百夫长看见所发生的事，就颂赞神，说：“这真是个义人！”聚集观看的群众，看见所发生的事，都捶着胸回去了。与耶稣熟悉的人，和从加利利跟随他来的妇女，都远远地站着，看这些事。

千夫长立刻带着一些百夫长和士兵跑到他们那里。众人一看见千夫长和士兵，就停止殴打保罗。

但百夫长想要救保罗，就阻止他们这样行。他吩咐会游泳的跳下水去，先到岸上，

耶稣到了迦百农，有一个百夫长前来恳求他，

千夫长叫了两个百夫长来，说：“预备两百个步兵，七十个骑兵、两百个长枪手，晚上九点钟往该撒利亚去。

他们决定要我们坐船往意大利去，就把保罗和别的囚犯，交给皇家军营里的一个百夫长，名叫犹流。

试探者前来对他说：“你若是神的儿子，就吩咐这些石头变成食物吧！”

保罗请了一个百夫长来，说：“请你带这个青年人去见千夫长，他有事要报告。”

“你这个想拆毁圣所，三日之内又把它建造起来的，救救自己吧！如果你是神的儿子，从十字架上下来吧！”

耶稣却不作声。大祭司又对他说：“我指着永生的神要你起誓，告诉我们你是不是基督、神的儿子。”

王又派出第三名五十夫长和他的五十名手下；那五十夫长来到，就双膝跪在以利亚面前，恳求他，对他说：“神人哪！愿我的性命和这五十个仆人的性命在你眼中看为宝贵。看哪！曾经有火从天降下，吞灭了先前两个五十夫长和他们各五十名手下；现在，愿我的性命在你眼中看为宝贵。”

在该撒利亚有一个人，名叫哥尼流，是意大利营的百夫长。

他们说：“那么你是神的儿子吗？”耶稣说：“你们说了，我是。”

他们听了以后，觉得扎心，就对彼得和其余的使徒说：“弟兄们，我们应当作什么呢？”

就在那时，大地震发生了，那座城倒塌了十分之一，因着地震而死的有七千人，其余的人都很害怕，就把荣耀归给天上的神。

狱吏叫人拿了灯来，就冲进去，战战兢兢地俯伏在保罗和西拉面前，随后领他们出来，说：“先生，我应该作什么才可以得救？”

犹太人回答：“我们有律法，根据那律法，他是该死的，因为他自命为神的儿子。”

按圣洁的灵说，因为从死人中复活，显明他是大有能力的、神的儿子（“显明他是大有能力的、神的儿子”或译：“以大能显明他是神的儿子）。
