然後坐在那裡看守。

站在對面的百夫長看見耶穌喊叫斷氣的情形，便說：「這人真是上帝的兒子！」

祂說信靠上帝，如果上帝喜悅祂，就讓上帝來救祂吧！因為祂自稱是上帝的兒子。」

百夫長見此情形，便讚美上帝，說：「這人的確是個義人。」圍觀的人見狀，無不捶胸頓足黯然離去。耶穌熟識的人和從加利利跟著祂來的婦女們都站在遠處觀看。

千夫長馬上帶著軍兵和幾個百夫長趕來了。眾人一見千夫長和軍隊，便停止毆打保羅。

但百夫長為了救保羅，不准他們輕舉妄動，下令會游泳的先跳到海裡游上岸。

耶穌到了迦百農，一個百夫長前來向祂求助，說：

於是，千夫長召來兩名百夫長，吩咐道：「預備二百名步兵、七十名騎兵、二百名長槍手，今晚九時出發去凱撒利亞。

他們決定讓我們坐船去義大利，於是將保羅和其他囚犯都交給一位皇家兵團的百夫長猶流看管。

試探者前來對祂說：「如果你是上帝的兒子，可以叫這些石頭變成食物。」

保羅請來一位百夫長，說：「請趕快帶這青年去見千夫長，他有要事稟告！」

「你這聲稱把聖殿拆毀又在三天內重建的人啊，救救自己吧！你要是上帝的兒子，就從十字架上下來吧！」

耶穌還是沉默不語。大祭司又對祂說：「我奉永活上帝的名命令你起誓告訴我們，你是不是上帝的兒子基督？」

王再次派一個五十夫長率領五十人前去。五十夫長上去，雙膝跪在以利亞面前，哀求道：「上帝的僕人啊，求你饒了我和你的五十名僕人的性命。前兩個五十夫長和他們的部下都被天上降下的火燒死了，現在求你饒我一命！」

在凱撒利亞有一位隸屬義大利營的百夫長名叫哥尼流。

他們都問：「那麼，你是上帝的兒子嗎？」耶穌回答說：「你們說我是。」

他們聽了彼得的話，覺得扎心，就對彼得和其他使徒說：「弟兄們，我們該怎麼辦呢？」

就在那一刻，發生了強烈的地震，那座城的十分之一倒塌了，因地震死亡的共七千人，生還者都在恐懼中將榮耀歸給天上的上帝。

獄卒叫人拿燈過來，衝進內牢，戰戰兢兢地俯伏在保羅和西拉面前。獄卒領他們出來後問道：「兩位先生，我該怎樣做才能得救？」

猶太人回答說：「我們有律法，按照那律法，祂應當被處死，因為祂自稱是上帝的兒子。」

從聖潔的靈來看，祂從死裡復活，用大能顯明自己是上帝的兒子。
