我的上帝，我的上帝，你為甚麼離棄了我？為甚麼遠離而不救我？不聽我哀哼的話呢？

基督在他肉身的日子、既用壯烈的哭號和眼淚、向那能救他脫死的獻祈求和懇請，就因了虔敬而蒙垂聽；

下午三點的時候，耶穌大聲呼喊說：『以羅伊，以羅伊，拉馬撒巴各大尼？』翻譯出來就是說：『我的上帝，我的上帝，你為甚麼撇棄我？』

永恆主雖定意用憂患將他壓傷，但他將本身獻為賠罪祭時，他卻要看到他的後裔，並且延年益壽，而永恆主定的旨意也必在他手中順利地實現，

這事以後，耶穌知道各樣的事已經完成了（為要使經上所說的得成就），就說：『我渴了！』有一個器皿滿盛着酸酒放在那裏；有人就拿滿了酸酒的海絨綁在槍上，送到他嘴裏。耶穌受了酸酒，就說：『完成了！』便低下頭，把靈交付了。

耶穌大聲呼喊說：『父啊，我將我的靈託付在你手裏。』說了這話，就斷了氣。

說：『上帝已經離棄了他；追趕他吧；捉住他吧！因為沒有人援救。』

『故此一切過路人哪，你們觀察來看吧！看所加於我的、有沒有痛苦像我的痛苦，就是永恆主發烈怒時所使我受的苦。
