我的上帝，我的上帝，你为何离弃我？为何迟迟不来救我，不听我的哀号呢？

基督在世为人的时候，曾经声泪俱下地祈求能救祂脱离死亡的上帝。祂因为敬虔而蒙了应允。

大约在三点，耶稣大声呼喊：“以罗伊，以罗伊，拉马撒巴各大尼？”意思是：“我的上帝，我的上帝，你为什么离弃我？”

然而，祂被压伤、受痛苦是耶和华的旨意；祂的性命作了赎罪祭。祂必看见自己的后裔，祂必长久活着。耶和华的旨意必在祂手中实现。

后来，耶稣知道一切的事已经完成，就说：“我渴了。”这是要应验圣经上的话。那里有一个器皿盛满了醋酒。有人用海绵蘸满了醋酒绑在牛膝草上送到祂的嘴里，耶稣尝了那醋酒，然后说：“成了！”就垂下头来，将灵魂交给了上帝。

耶稣大声喊着说：“父啊，我将我的灵魂交在你手中。”说完，就断气了。

“上帝已经丢弃了他。去追赶、捉拿他吧，因为无人会救他。”

“路人啊，你们都无动于衷吗？你们看看，耶和华向我发烈怒，降祸于我，还有谁比我更痛苦呢？
