從那裏經過的人譏笑他，搖着頭，

從那裏經過的人譏笑他，搖着頭，

過路的人都嘲笑祂，搖著頭說：

過路的人嘲笑他，搖著頭說：

經過的人毁謗他，搖着頭；

那些路過的人辱罵耶穌，搖著頭，

過者誚之、搖首曰、

過者誚之、搖首曰、

過者譏之、搖首曰、

過者搖首而誚之曰：

Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads

Those who passed by shouted at Jesus and made fun of him. They shook their heads

And those who passed by derided him, wagging their heads

The people passing by shouted abuse, shaking their heads in mockery.

Those who passed by were yelling insults at him, shaking their heads

And those passing by were speaking abusively to Him, shaking their heads,

And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads

And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads,

And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,

Those who passed by defamed him, shaking their heads

Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads,

I have become an object of ridicule to my accusers; when they see me, they shake their heads in scorn.

Is this nothing to you, all you who pass by? Look and see! Is there any pain like mine, which was dealt out to me, which the Lord made me suffer on the day of His burning anger?

The people stood watching, and even the leaders kept scoffing:“ He saved others; let Him save Himself if this is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One!”The soldiers also mocked Him. They came offering Him sour wineand said,“ If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself!”An inscription was above Him: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.Then one of the criminals hanging there began to yell insults at Him:“ Aren’t You the Messiah? Save Yourself and us!”

If you were in my place I could also talk like you. I could string words together against you and shake my head at you.

Insults have broken my heart, and I am in despair. I waited for sympathy, but there was none; for comforters, but found no one.

All who pass by scornfully clap their hands at you. They mock and shake their heads at Daughter Jerusalem: Is this the city that was called the perfection of beauty, the joy of the whole earth?All your enemies open their mouths against you. They hiss and gnash their teeth, saying,“ We have swallowed her up. This is the day we have waited for! We have lived to see it.”The Lord has done what He planned; He has accomplished His decree, which He ordained in days of old. He has demolished without compassion, letting the enemy gloat over you and exalting the horn of your adversaries.

But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by men and despised by people.Everyone who sees me mocks me; they sneer and shake their heads:

But when I stumbled, they gathered in glee; they gathered against me. Assailants I did not know tore at me and did not stop.With godless mockery they gnashed their teeth at me.Lord, how long will You look on? Rescue my life from their ravages, my only one from the young lions.I will praise You in the great congregation; I will exalt You among many people.Do not let my deceitful enemies rejoice over me; do not let those who hate me without cause look at me maliciously.For they do not speak in friendly ways, but contrive deceitful schemes against those who live peacefully in the land.They open their mouths wide against me and say,“ Aha, aha! We saw it!”

For wicked and deceitful mouths open against me; they speak against me with lying tongues.

He did not commit sin, and no deceit was found in His mouth;when He was reviled, He did not revile in return; when He was suffering, He did not threaten but entrusted Himself to the One who judges justly.He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that, having died to sins, we might live for righteousness; you have been healed by His wounds.

For I have endured insults because of You, and shame has covered my face.I have become a stranger to my brothers and a foreigner to my mother’s sonsbecause zeal for Your house has consumed me, and the insults of those who insult You have fallen on me.I mourned and fasted, but it brought me insults.I wore sackcloth as my clothing, and I was a joke to them.Those who sit at the city gate talk about me, and drunkards make up songs about me.

Those who passed by were yelling insults at Him, shaking their heads, and saying,“ Ha! The One who would demolish the sanctuary and build it in three days,save Yourself by coming down from the cross!”

I can count all my bones; people look and stare at me.

I am ridiculed by all my adversaries and even by my neighbors. I am dreaded by my acquaintances; those who see me in the street run from me.I am forgotten: gone from memory like a dead person— like broken pottery.I have heard the gossip of many; terror is on every side. When they conspired against me, they plotted to take my life.
