So when Pilate saw that he was gaining nothing, but rather that a riot was beginning, he took water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying,“ I am innocent of this man’s blood; see to it yourselves.”

乃應先知耶利米言云、彼取被估者之值三十金、即以色列人所估者、

惟爾曰、我無罪焉、其怒轉離我矣、因爾自謂未嘗干罪、我必鞫爾、

我即以雪濯身、以鹼潔手、爾必浸我於阬、我衣亦將厭我、

彼謂木曰、爾為我父、謂石曰、爾乃生我、且背我而不面我、惟遭患難、則曰起而援我、

方伯坐於堂、其妻使謂之曰、此義人、爾勿與也、以我今夜夢中、不勝為之哀傷焉、
