When Pilate saw that he could do nothing, but that instead a riot was starting, he took some water, washed his hands before the crowd and said,“ I am innocent of this man’s blood. You take care of it yourselves!”

“ For God speaks, the first time in one way, the second time in another, though a person does not perceive it.In a dream, a night vision, when deep sleep falls on people as they sleep in their beds.Then he gives a revelation to people, and terrifies them with warnings,to turn a person from his sin, and to cover a person’s pride.

The one who stiffens his neck after numerous rebukes will suddenly be destroyed without remedy.

Now when the centurion saw what had happened, he praised God and said,“ Certainly this man was innocent!”

When Pilate heard these words he brought Jesus outside and sat down on the judgment seat in the place called“ The Stone Pavement”( Gabbatha in Aramaic).

He committed no sin nor was deceit found in his mouth.

Having suffered, he will reflect on his work, he will be satisfied when he understands what he has done.“ My servant will acquit many, for he carried their sins.

I have the power to do you harm, but the God of your father told me last night,‘ Be careful that you neither bless nor curse Jacob.’

But God appeared to Abimelech in a dream at night and said to him,“ You are as good as dead because of the woman you have taken, for she is someone else’s wife.”Now Abimelech had not gone near her. He said,“ Lord, would you really slaughter an innocent nation?Did Abraham not say to me,‘ She is my sister’? And she herself said,‘ He is my brother.’ I have done this with a clear conscience and with innocent hands!”Then in the dream God replied to him,“ Yes, I know that you have done this with a clear conscience. That is why I have kept you from sinning against me and why I did not allow you to touch her.

After being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they went back by another route to their own country.After they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said,“ Get up, take the child and his mother and flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to look for the child to kill him.”

But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. After being warned in a dream, he went to the regions of Galilee.

When he had contemplated this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said,“ Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, because the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.

And we rightly so, for we are getting what we deserve for what we did, but this man has done nothing wrong.”

After Herod had died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt

But God came to Laban the Aramean in a dream at night and warned him,“ Be careful that you neither bless nor curse Jacob.”

saying,“ I have sinned by betraying innocent blood!” But they said,“ What is that to us? You take care of it yourself!”

Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion! Shout, daughter of Jerusalem! Look! Your king is coming to you: he is legitimate and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey– on a young donkey, the foal of a female donkey.

The LORD said,“ Hear now my words: If there is a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known to him in a vision; I will speak with him in a dream.

( My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin.) But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous One,
