Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken:“ Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly.

Suddenly, Jesus’ words flashed through Peter’s mind:“ Before the rooster crows, you will deny three times that you even know me.” And he went away, weeping bitterly.

耶稣说：“我实在告诉你，今夜鸡叫以前，你要三次不认我。”

我也知道，住在我里面的，就是我肉体之中，没有善。因为立志为善由得我，只是行出来由不得我。我所愿意的善，我不去做；我所不愿意的恶，我反而去做。如果我去做我不愿意做的，就不是我做的，而是住在我里面的罪做的。

主又说：“西门，西门！撒但要得着你们，好筛你们像筛麦子一样；但我已经为你祈求，使你不至于失了信心。你回头以后，要坚固你的弟兄。”彼得对他说：“主啊，我已准备好要同你坐牢，与你同死。”耶稣说：“彼得，我告诉你，今日鸡还没有叫，你要三次说不认得我。”

耶稣回答：“你愿意为我舍命吗？我实实在在地告诉你，鸡叫以前，你要三次不认我。”

弟兄们，若有人偶然被过犯所胜，你们属灵的人就要用温柔的心把他挽回过来；自己也要留意，免得也被引诱。

主转过身来看彼得，彼得就想起主对他所说的话：“今日鸡叫以前，你要三次不认我。”他就出去痛哭。

使你与人不同的是谁呢？你所有的有哪一个不是领受的呢？若是领受的，为何自夸，仿佛不是领受的呢？

就是为你们这些藉着信、蒙上帝大能保守的人，能获得他所预备、到末世要显现的救恩。

这时，出卖耶稣的犹大看见耶稣已经定了罪，就后悔，把那三十块银钱拿回来给祭司长和长老，说：“我出卖了无辜人的血有罪了。”他们说：“那跟我们有什么相干？你自己承当吧！”犹大就把那银钱丢在殿里，出去吊死了。
