Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken:“ Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly.

Then Peter remembered what Jesus had said.“ The rooster will crow,” Jesus had told him.“ Before it does, you will say three times that you don’t know me.” Peter went outside. He broke down and cried.

And Peter remembered the saying of Jesus,“ Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” And he went out and wept bitterly.

Suddenly, Jesus’ words flashed through Peter’s mind:“ Before the rooster crows, you will deny three times that you even know me.” And he went away, weeping bitterly.

耶穌說：「我實在告訴你，今夜雞叫以先，你要三次不認我。」

我也知道，在我裏頭，就是我肉體之中，沒有良善。因為，立志為善由得我，只是行出來由不得我。故此，我所願意的善，我反不做；我所不願意的惡，我倒去做。若我去做所不願意做的，就不是我做的，乃是住在我裏頭的罪做的。

主又說：「西門！西門！撒但想要得着你們，好篩你們像篩麥子一樣；但我已經為你祈求，叫你不至於失了信心。你回頭以後，要堅固你的弟兄。」彼得說：「主啊，我就是同你下監，同你受死，也是甘心！」耶穌說：「彼得，我告訴你，今日雞還沒有叫，你要三次說不認得我。」

耶穌說：「你願意為我捨命嗎？我實實在在地告訴你，雞叫以先，你要三次不認我。」

弟兄們，若有人偶然被過犯所勝，你們屬靈的人就當用溫柔的心把他挽回過來；又當自己小心，恐怕也被引誘。

主轉過身來看彼得，彼得便想起主對他所說的話：「今日雞叫以先，你要三次不認我。」他就出去痛哭。

使你與人不同的是誰呢？你有甚麼不是領受的呢？若是領受的，為何自誇，彷彿不是領受的呢？

你們這因信蒙神能力保守的人，必能得着所預備、到末世要顯現的救恩。

這時候，賣耶穌的猶大看見耶穌已經定了罪，就後悔，把那三十塊錢拿回來給祭司長和長老，說：「我賣了無辜之人的血是有罪了。」他們說：「那與我們有甚麼相干？你自己承當吧！」猶大就把那銀錢丟在殿裏，出去吊死了。
