Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken:“ Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly.

Then Peter remembered what Jesus had said.“ The rooster will crow,” Jesus had told him.“ Before it does, you will say three times that you don’t know me.” Peter went outside. He broke down and cried.

Suddenly, Jesus’ words flashed through Peter’s mind:“ Before the rooster crows, you will deny three times that you even know me.” And he went away, weeping bitterly.

耶稣对他说：“我确实地告诉你：今天晚上鸡叫以前，你会三次不认我。”

事实上，我知道在我里面，就是在我肉体中，没有良善；因为行善的意愿在我里面，却行不出来。这样，我愿意行的善，我没有去行；我不愿意做的恶，我反而去做。那么，如果我做我不愿意做的事，这事就不再是我所做的，而是住在我里面的罪所做的。

主又说：“西门，西门，你看，撒旦想要得着你们，要筛你们像筛麦子一样。但是，我已经为你祈求，使你不失去信仰。所以当你回转过来的时候，要坚固你的弟兄们。”可是彼得对耶稣说：“主啊，我预备好要与你一起去监狱、一起去死！”耶稣却说：“彼得，我告诉你：今天鸡叫以前，你会三次否定认识我。”

耶稣回答：“你愿意为我舍命吗？我确确实实地告诉你：鸡叫以前，你必定三次不认我。

弟兄们，一个人无论被任何过犯所胜，你们属灵的人都要以温柔的心灵把这样的人挽回过来；但是你自己要留心，免得你也受试探。

主转过身来注视彼得，彼得就想起主对他说过的话：“今天鸡叫以前，你会三次不认我。”他就到外面去，痛哭起来。

使你与别人不同的到底是谁呢？你有什么不是领受的呢？如果真是领受的，你为什么还自夸，好像不是领受的呢？

你们藉着信，在神的大能中蒙保守，以至于那预备好要在末世显现的救恩。

这时候，那出卖耶稣的犹大看见耶稣被定了死罪，就后悔，去把三十个银钱退还给祭司长们和长老们，说：“我出卖了无辜人的血，我有罪了。”但是他们说：“这与我们有什么关系？你自己看着办吧！”犹大把银钱丢在圣所里就退了出来，去上吊自杀了。
