Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken:“ Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly.

耶穌說：「我實在告訴你，今夜雞叫以前，你會三次不認我。」

我也知道，在我的罪惡本性裡面毫無良善，我有行善的心願，卻沒有行善的力量。我想行善，卻不能行；我不想作惡，反倒去作。如果我不想做的，我反倒去做，這就不是我自己做的，而是住在我裡面的罪做的。

耶穌說：「西門！西門！撒旦已經要求像篩麥子一樣篩你們，但我已經為你禱告了，叫你不至於失去信心。你回頭以後，要讓你的弟兄剛強。」西門·彼得說：「主啊，我願意和你一起坐牢，一起受死！」耶穌說：「彼得，我告訴你，明早雞叫之前，你會三次不認我。」

耶穌說：「你真的願意為我死嗎？我實實在在地告訴你，雞叫以前，你會三次不認我。」

弟兄姊妹，如果有人不慎犯了罪，你們順從聖靈的人就應該溫柔地挽回他，同時也要小心，免得自己也受誘惑。

這時，主轉過頭來望著彼得，彼得想起主對他說的話：「明早雞叫之前，你會三次不認我。」他就到外面，痛哭起來。

誰使你與眾不同呢？你有哪一樣不是領受的呢？既然一切都是領受的，你為什麼還自誇，好像不是領受的？

你們這些因信而蒙上帝用大能保守的人，必能得到那已經預備好、在末世要顯明的救恩。

出賣耶穌的猶大看見耶穌被定了罪，感到很後悔，就把那三十塊銀子還給祭司長和長老，說：「我出賣了清白無辜的人，我犯罪了！」他們說：「那是你自己的事，跟我們有什麼關係？」猶大把錢扔在聖殿裡，出去上吊自盡了。
