Then he began to call down curses, and he swore to them,“ I don’t know the man!” Immediately a rooster crowed.

Then Peter began to curse and said to them,“ I don’t know the man!” Right away a rooster crowed.

Then he began to invoke a curse on himself and to swear,“ I do not know the man.” And immediately the rooster crowed.

Peter swore,“ A curse on me if I’m lying— I don’t know the man!” And immediately the rooster crowed.

Then he started to curse and to swear with an oath,“ I don’t know the man!” Immediately a rooster crowed,

And when it was day, some of the Jews banded together and bound themselves under an oath, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.Now there were more than forty who had formed this conspiracy.They came to the chief priests and elders, and said,“ We have bound ourselves under a great oath that we will eat nothing until we have killed Paul.

If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed. O Lord, come!

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

However, we cannot give them wives from our daughters, for the children of Israel have sworn an oath, saying,‘ Cursed be the one who gives a wife to Benjamin.’”

Peter then denied again; and immediately a rooster crowed.

For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my countrymen according to the flesh,

“ Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.

So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter,“ Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him,“ Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him,“ Feed My lambs.”He said to him again a second time,“ Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” He said to Him,“ Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him,“ Tend My sheep.”He said to him the third time,“ Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time,“ Do you love Me?” And he said to Him,“ Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him,“ Feed My sheep.

And the men of Israel were distressed that day, for Saul had placed the people under oath, saying,“ Cursed is the man who eats any food until evening, before I have taken vengeance on my enemies.” So none of the people tasted food.Now all the people of the land came to a forest; and there was honey on the ground.And when the people had come into the woods, there was the honey, dripping; but no one put his hand to his mouth, for the people feared the oath.But Jonathan had not heard his father charge the people with the oath; therefore he stretched out the end of the rod that was in his hand and dipped it in a honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his countenance brightened.Then one of the people said,“ Your father strictly charged the people with an oath, saying,‘ Cursed is the man who eats food this day.’” And the people were faint.

Jesus said to him,“ Assuredly, I say to you that today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.”

And all the people answered and said,“ His blood be on us and on our children.”

But Peter said,“ Man, I do not know what you are saying!” Immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed.

And he said to his mother,“ The eleven hundred shekels of silver that were taken from you, and on which you put a curse, even saying it in my ears— here is the silver with me; I took it.” And his mother said,“ May you be blessed by the Lord, my son!”

Then he began to curse and swear,“ I do not know this Man of whom you speak!”A second time the rooster crowed. Then Peter called to mind the word that Jesus had said to him,“ Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.” And when he thought about it, he wept.

But he denied it, saying,“ I neither know nor understand what you are saying.” And he went out on the porch, and a rooster crowed.
