He denied it again, with an oath:“ I don’t know the man!”

Again he said he was not. With a curse he said,“ I don’t know the man!”

And again he denied it with an oath:“ I do not know the man.”

Again Peter denied it, this time with an oath.“ I don’t even know the man,” he said.

And again he denied it with an oath:“ I don’t know the man!”

And again he denied it, with an oath:“ I do not know the man.”

But again he denied with an oath,“ I do not know the Man!”

And again he denied with an oath, I know not the man.

And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.

He denied it again with an oath,“ I do not know the man!”

Again he denied it with an oath,“ I don’t know the man.”

But I tell you, don’t take an oath at all: either by heaven, because it is God’s throne;or by the earth, because it is His footstool; or by Jerusalem, because it is the city of the great King.Neither should you swear by your head, because you cannot make a single hair white or black.

“ I tell you, Peter,” He said,“ the rooster will not crow today until you deny three times that you know Me!”

“ I will come to you in judgment, and I will be ready to witness against sorcerers and adulterers; against those who swear falsely; against those who oppress the widow and the fatherless, and cheat the wage earner; and against those who deny justice to the foreigner. They do not fear Me,” says the Lord of Hosts.

Do not misuse the name of the Lord your God, because the Lord will not leave anyone unpunished who misuses His name.

Do not plot evil in your hearts against your neighbor, and do not love perjury, for I hate all this”— this is the Lord’s declaration.

“ Listen to this, house of Jacob— those who are called by the name Israel and have descended from Judah, who swear by the name of Yahweh and declare the God of Israel, but not in truth or righteousness.

Then Peter said,“ Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the proceeds from the field?Wasn’t it yours while you possessed it? And after it was sold, wasn’t it at your disposal? Why is it that you planned this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God!”

Then he said to me,“ This is the curse that is going out over the whole land, for every thief will be removed according to what is written on one side, and everyone who swears falsely will be removed according to what is written on the other side.I will send it out,”— this is the declaration of the Lord of Hosts—“ and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of the one who swears falsely by My name. It will stay inside his house and destroy it along with its timbers and stones.”

Then he started to curse and to swear with an oath,“ I do not know the man!” Immediately a rooster crowed,
