With that, one of Jesus’ companions reached for his sword, drew it out and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear. (niv)

But Peter followed him at a distance, right up to the courtyard of the high priest. He entered and sat down with the guards to see the outcome. (niv)

Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. (niv)

The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? (niv)
