And when he had gone out to the gateway, another girl saw him and said to those who were there,“ This fellow also was with Jesus of Nazareth.”

Now as Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came.And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said,“ You also were with Jesus of Nazareth.”But he denied it, saying,“ I neither know nor understand what you are saying.” And he went out on the porch, and a rooster crowed.And the servant girl saw him again, and began to say to those who stood by,“ This is one of them.”But he denied it again. And a little later those who stood by said to Peter again,“ Surely you are one of them; for you are a Galilean, and your speech shows it.”Then he began to curse and swear,“ I do not know this Man of whom you speak!”A second time the rooster crowed. Then Peter called to mind the word that Jesus had said to him,“ Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.” And when he thought about it, he wept.

And there he went into a cave, and spent the night in that place; and behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and He said to him,“ What are you doing here, Elijah?”

Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people assembled at the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,

But Peter followed Him at a distance to the high priest’s courtyard. And he went in and sat with the servants to see the end.

And Nathanael said to him,“ Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him,“ Come and see.”

They answered and said to him,“ Are you also from Galilee? Search and look, for no prophet has arisen out of Galilee.”

After this man, Judas of Galilee rose up in the days of the census, and drew away many people after him. He also perished, and all who obeyed him were dispersed.

Others said,“ This is the Christ.” But some said,“ Will the Christ come out of Galilee?

But Peter stood at the door outside. Then the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to her who kept the door, and brought Peter in.Then the servant girl who kept the door said to Peter,“ You are not also one of this Man’s disciples, are you?” He said,“ I am not.”Now the servants and officers who had made a fire of coals stood there, for it was cold, and they warmed themselves. And Peter stood with them and warmed himself.

Now when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat among them.And a certain servant girl, seeing him as he sat by the fire, looked intently at him and said,“ This man was also with Him.”But he denied Him, saying,“ Woman, I do not know Him.”And after a little while another saw him and said,“ You also are of them.” But Peter said,“ Man, I am not!”Then after about an hour had passed, another confidently affirmed, saying,“ Surely this fellow also was with Him, for he is a Galilean.”But Peter said,“ Man, I do not know what you are saying!” Immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed.And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had said to him,“ Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.”So Peter went out and wept bitterly.

and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked( for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds)—then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,

But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea instead of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And being warned by God in a dream, he turned aside into the region of Galilee.And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets,“ He shall be called a Nazarene.”

Now Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. Therefore they said to him,“ You are not also one of His disciples, are you?” He denied it and said,“ I am not!”One of the servants of the high priest, a relative of him whose ear Peter cut off, said,“ Did I not see you in the garden with Him?”Peter then denied again; and immediately a rooster crowed.

Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

So the multitudes said,“ This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee.”
