But Jesus held his peace. The high priest answered him,“ I adjure you by the living God, that you tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God.”

耶穌默然、祭司長曰、當永生上帝前、我令爾誓而告我、爾果上帝子基督否、

耶穌默然、大祭司曰、我令爾指永生天主誓而告我、爾果天主之子基督否、

耶穌默然不答。大司祭曰：『予指永生之天主、使爾誓而告予、爾為天主之子基督乎？』

But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him,“ I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”

But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him,“ I am commanding you in the name of the living God. May he judge you if you don’t tell the truth. Tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”

But Jesus remained silent. And the high priest said to him,“ I adjure you by the living God, tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God.”

But Jesus remained silent. Then the high priest said to him,“ I demand in the name of the living God— tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”

But Jesus kept silent. The high priest said to him,“ I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”

But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest said to Him,“ I place You under oath by the living God, to tell us whether You are the Christ, the Son of God.”

But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him,“ I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!”

But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou art the Christ, the Son of God.

But Jesus kept silent. Then the high priest said to Him,“ By the living God I place You under oath: tell us if You are the Messiah, the Son of God!”

But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.

But Jesus was silent. The high priest said to him,“ I charge you under oath by the living God, tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God.”

Simon Peter answered,“ You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

“‘ If anyone sins, in that he hears a public adjuration to testify, he being a witness, whether he has seen or known, if he doesn’t report it, then he shall bear his iniquity.

When he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.

He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he didn’t open his mouth. As a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he didn’t open his mouth.

The Jews therefore came around him and said to him,“ How long will you hold us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”

When the people had come to the forest, behold, honey was dripping, but no one put his hand to his mouth; for the people feared the oath.

For a child is born to us. A son is given to us; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, on David’s throne, and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that time on, even forever. The zeal of Yahweh of Armies will perform this.

For this cause therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the Sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God.Jesus therefore answered them,“ Most certainly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father doing. For whatever things he does, these the Son also does likewise.For the Father has affection for the Son, and shows him all things that he himself does. He will show him greater works than these, that you may marvel.For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom he desires.For the Father judges no one, but he has given all judgment to the Son,that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who doesn’t honor the Son doesn’t honor the Father who sent him.“ Most certainly I tell you, he who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and doesn’t come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.Most certainly I tell you, the hour comes, and now is, when the dead will hear the Son of God’s voice; and those who hear will live.

He entered into the Praetorium again, and said to Jesus,“ Where are you from?” But Jesus gave him no answer.

He gave him no answer, not even one word, so that the governor marveled greatly.

and saying,“ You who destroy the temple, and build it in three days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross!”

We have come to believe and know that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Nathanael answered him,“ Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are King of Israel!”

I have seen, and have testified that this is the Son of God.”

The king said to him,“ How many times do I have to adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in Yahweh’s name?”

For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him.He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn’t believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.

But he stayed quiet, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him,“ Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?”

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered the king,“ Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.

Pilate therefore said to him,“ Are you a king then?” Jesus answered,“ You say that I am a king. For this reason I have been born, and for this reason I have come into the world, that I should testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”

I and the Father are one.”

They said therefore to him,“ Who are you?” Jesus said to them,“ Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning.

But Jesus held his peace. The high priest answered him,“ I adjure you by the living God, that you tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God.”Jesus said to him,“ You have said it. Nevertheless, I tell you, after this you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of the sky.”Then the high priest tore his clothing, saying,“ He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Behold, now you have heard his blasphemy.What do you think?” They answered,“ He is worthy of death!”

Whoever is an accomplice of a thief is an enemy of his own soul. He takes an oath, but dares not testify.

He trusts in God. Let God deliver him now, if he wants him; for he said,‘ I am the Son of God.’”

As soon as it was day, the assembly of the elders of the people were gathered together, both chief priests and scribes, and they led him away into their council, saying,“ If you are the Christ, tell us.” But he said to them,“ If I tell you, you won’t believe,and if I ask, you will in no way answer me or let me go.From now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”They all said,“ Are you then the Son of God?” He said to them,“ You say it, because I am.”They said,“ Why do we need any more witness? For we ourselves have heard from his own mouth!”

When he was cursed, he didn’t curse back. When he suffered, he didn’t threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously.

Now the passage of the Scripture which he was reading was this,“ He was led as a sheep to the slaughter. As a lamb before his shearer is silent, so he doesn’t open his mouth.In his humiliation, his judgment was taken away. Who will declare His generation? For his life is taken from the earth.”The eunuch answered Philip,“ Who is the prophet talking about? About himself, or about someone else?”Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture, preached to him about Jesus.

Then one of the people answered, and said,“ Your father directly commanded the people with an oath, saying,‘ Cursed is the man who eats food today.’” So the people were faint.

The king said to him,“ How many times shall I adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in Yahweh’s name?”

do you say of him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world,‘ You blaspheme,’ because I said,‘ I am the Son of God?’

The Jews answered him,“ We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.”

but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.

“ Yet I have set my King on my holy hill of Zion.”I will tell of the decree: Yahweh said to me,“ You are my son. Today I have become your father.

They also who seek after my life lay snares. Those who seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and meditate deceits all day long.But I, as a deaf man, don’t hear. I am as a mute man who doesn’t open his mouth.Yes, I am as a man who doesn’t hear, in whose mouth are no reproofs.

Now the centurion, and those who were with him watching Jesus, when they saw the earthquake, and the things that were done, feared exceedingly, saying,“ Truly this was the Son of God.”

The priest shall cause her to take an oath and shall tell the woman,“ If no man has lain with you, and if you haven’t gone aside to uncleanness, being under your husband’s authority, be free from this water of bitterness that brings a curse.But if you have gone astray, being under your husband’s authority, and if you are defiled, and some man has lain with you besides your husband—”then the priest shall cause the woman to swear with the oath of cursing, and the priest shall tell the woman,“ May Yahweh make you a curse and an oath among your people, when Yahweh allows your thigh to fall away, and your body to swell;

The men of Israel were distressed that day; for Saul had adjured the people, saying,“ Cursed is the man who eats any food until it is evening, and I am avenged of my enemies.” So none of the people tasted food.
