But Jesus was silent. The high priest said to him,“ I charge you under oath by the living God, tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God.”

耶穌默然、祭司長曰、當永生上帝前、我令爾誓而告我、爾果上帝子基督否、

耶穌默然、大祭司曰、我令爾指永生天主誓而告我、爾果天主之子基督否、

耶穌默然不答。大司祭曰：『予指永生之天主、使爾誓而告予、爾為天主之子基督乎？』

But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him,“ I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”

But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him,“ I am commanding you in the name of the living God. May he judge you if you don’t tell the truth. Tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”

But Jesus remained silent. And the high priest said to him,“ I adjure you by the living God, tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God.”

But Jesus remained silent. Then the high priest said to him,“ I demand in the name of the living God— tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”

But Jesus kept silent. The high priest said to him,“ I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”

But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest said to Him,“ I place You under oath by the living God, to tell us whether You are the Christ, the Son of God.”

But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him,“ I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!”

But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou art the Christ, the Son of God.

But Jesus kept silent. Then the high priest said to Him,“ By the living God I place You under oath: tell us if You are the Messiah, the Son of God!”

But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.

But Jesus held his peace. The high priest answered him,“ I adjure you by the living God, that you tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God.”

Simon Peter answered,“ You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

“‘ When a person sins in that he hears a public curse against one who fails to testify and he is a witness( he either saw or knew what had happened) and he does not make it known, then he will bear his punishment for iniquity.

But when he was accused by the chief priests and the elders, he did not respond.

He was treated harshly and afflicted, but he did not even open his mouth. Like a lamb led to the slaughtering block, like a sheep silent before her shearers, he did not even open his mouth.

The Jewish leaders surrounded him and asked,“ How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”

When the army entered the forest, they saw the honey flowing, but no one ate any of it, for the army was afraid of the oath.

For a child has been born to us, a son has been given to us. He shoulders responsibility and is called: Extraordinary Strategist, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.His dominion will be vast and he will bring immeasurable prosperity. He will rule on David’s throne and over David’s kingdom, establishing it and strengthening it by promoting justice and fairness, from this time forward and forevermore. The LORD’s intense devotion to his people will accomplish this.

For this reason the Jewish leaders were trying even harder to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was also calling God his own Father, thus making himself equal with God.So Jesus answered them,“ I tell you the solemn truth, the Son can do nothing on his own initiative, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, the Son does likewise.For the Father loves the Son and shows him everything he does, and will show him greater deeds than these, so that you will be amazed.For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whomever he wishes.Furthermore, the Father does not judge anyone, but has assigned all judgment to the Son,so that all people will honor the Son just as they honor the Father. The one who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.“ I tell you the solemn truth, the one who hears my message and believes the one who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned, but has crossed over from death to life.I tell you the solemn truth, a time is coming– and is now here– when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

and he went back into the governor’s residence and said to Jesus,“ Where do you come from?” But Jesus gave him no answer.

But he did not answer even one accusation, so that the governor was quite amazed.

and saying,“ You who can destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself! If you are God’s Son, come down from the cross!”

We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God!”

Nathanael answered him,“ Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the king of Israel!”

I have both seen and testified that this man is the Chosen One of God.”

The king said to him,“ How many times must I make you solemnly promise in the name of the LORD to tell me only the truth?”

For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world should be saved through him.The one who believes in him is not condemned. The one who does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.

But he was silent and did not answer. Again the high priest questioned him,“ Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?”

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied to King Nebuchadnezzar,“ We do not need to give you a reply concerning this.

Then Pilate said,“ So you are a king!” Jesus replied,“ You say that I am a king. For this reason I was born, and for this reason I came into the world– to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.”

The Father and I are one.”

So they said to him,“ Who are you?” Jesus replied,“ What I have told you from the beginning.

But Jesus was silent. The high priest said to him,“ I charge you under oath by the living God, tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God.”Jesus said to him,“ You have said it yourself. But I tell you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.”Then the high priest tore his clothes and declared,“ He has blasphemed! Why do we still need witnesses? Now you have heard the blasphemy!What is your verdict?” They answered,“ He is guilty and deserves death.”

Whoever shares with a thief is his own enemy; he hears the oath to testify, but does not talk.

He trusts in God– let God, if he wants to, deliver him now because he said,‘ I am God’s Son’!”

When day came, the council of the elders of the people gathered together, both the chief priests and the experts in the law. Then they led Jesus away to their counciland said,“ If you are the Christ, tell us.” But he said to them,“ If I tell you, you will not believe,and if I ask you, you will not answer.But from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”So they all said,“ Are you the Son of God, then?” He answered them,“ You say that I am.”Then they said,“ Why do we need further testimony? We have heard it ourselves from his own lips!”

When he was maligned, he did not answer back; when he suffered, he threatened no retaliation, but committed himself to God who judges justly.

Now the passage of scripture the man was reading was this:“ He was led like a sheep to slaughter, and like a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he did not open his mouth.In humiliation justice was taken from him. Who can describe his posterity? For his life was taken away from the earth.”Then the eunuch said to Philip,“ Please tell me, who is the prophet saying this about– himself or someone else?”So Philip started speaking, and beginning with this scripture proclaimed the good news about Jesus to him.

Then someone from the army informed him,“ Your father put the army under a strict oath saying,‘ Cursed be the man who eats food today!’ That is why the army is tired.”

The king said to him,“ How many times must I make you solemnly promise in the name of the LORD to tell me only the truth?”

do you say about the one whom the Father set apart and sent into the world,‘ You are blaspheming,’ because I said,‘ I am the Son of God’?

The Jewish leaders replied,“ We have a law, and according to our law he ought to die, because he claimed to be the Son of God!”

But these are recorded so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

“ I myself have installed my king on Zion, my holy hill.”The king says,“ I will announce the LORD’S decree. He said to me:‘ You are my son! This very day I have become your father!

Those who seek my life try to entrap me; those who want to harm me speak destructive words; all day long they say deceitful things.But I am like a deaf man– I hear nothing; I am like a mute who cannot speak.I am like a man who cannot hear and is incapable of arguing his defense.

Now when the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and what took place, they were extremely terrified and said,“ Truly this one was God’s Son!”

Then the priest will put the woman under oath and say to the her,“ If no other man has had sexual relations with you, and if you have not gone astray and become defiled while under your husband’s authority, may you be free from this bitter water that brings a curse.But if you have gone astray while under your husband’s authority, and if you have defiled yourself and some man other than your husband has had sexual relations with you….”Then the priest will put the woman under the oath of the curse and will say to the her,“ The LORD make you an attested curse among your people, if the LORD makes your thigh fall away and your abdomen swell;

Now the men of Israel were hard pressed that day, for Saul had made the army agree to this oath:“ Cursed be the man who eats food before evening! I will get my vengeance on my enemies!” So no one in the army ate anything.
