But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou art the Christ, the Son of God.

耶穌默然不答。大司祭曰：『予指永生之天主、使爾誓而告予、爾為天主之子基督乎？』

But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him,“ I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”

But Jesus remained silent. Then the high priest said to him,“ I demand in the name of the living God— tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”

But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him,“ I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!”

But Jesus kept silent. Then the high priest said to Him,“ By the living God I place You under oath: tell us if You are the Messiah, the Son of God!”

And when he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.

He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he opened not his mouth; as a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth.

The Jews therefore came round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou hold us in suspense? If thou art the Christ, tell us plainly.

And when the people were come unto the forest, behold, the honey dropped: but no man put his hand to his mouth; for the people feared the oath.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this.

For this cause therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only brake the sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God.Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father doing: for what things soever he doeth, these the Son also doeth in like manner.For the Father loveth the Son, and showeth him all things that himself doeth: and greater works than these will he show him, that ye may marvel.For as the Father raiseth the dead and giveth them life, even so the Son also giveth life to whom he will.For neither doth the Father judge any man, but he hath given all judgment unto the Son;that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. and he entered into the Prætorium again, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.

And he gave him no answer, not even to one word: insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.

and saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself: if thou art the Son of God, come down from the cross.

And we have believed and know that thou art the Holy One of God.

Nathanael answered him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art King of Israel.

And I have seen, and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.

And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou speak unto me nothing but the truth in the name of Jehovah?

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life.For God sent not the Son into the world to judge the world; but that the world should be saved through him.He that believeth on him is not judged: he that believeth not hath been judged already, because he hath not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God.

But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and saith unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed- nego answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer thee in this matter.

Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end have I been born, and to this end am I come into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

I and the Father are one.

They said therefore unto him, Who art thou? Jesus said unto them, Even that which I have also spoken unto you from the beginning.

They answered and said, He is worthy of death.

Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul; He heareth the adjuration and uttereth nothing.

He trusteth on God; let him deliver him now, if he desireth him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

And as soon as it was day, the assembly of the elders of the people was gathered together, both chief priests and scribes; and they led him away into their council, saying,If thou art the Christ, tell us. But he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:and if I ask you, ye will not answer.But from henceforth shall the Son of man be seated at the right hand of the power of God.And they all said, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.And they said, What further need have we of witness? for we ourselves have heard from his own mouth.

who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

Then answered one of the people, and said, Thy father straitly charged the people with an oath, saying, Cursed be the man that eateth food this day. And the people were faint.

And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou speak unto me nothing but the truth in the name of Jehovah?

say ye of him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by that law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

but these are written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye may have life in his name.

Yet I have set my king Upon my holy hill of Zion.I will tell of the decree: Jehovah said unto me, Thou art my son; This day have I begotten thee.

They also that seek after my life lay snares for me; And they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, And meditate deceits all the day long.But I, as a deaf man, hear not; And I am as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.Yea, I am as a man that heareth not, And in whose mouth are no reproofs.

Now the centurion, and they that were with him watching Jesus, when they saw the earthquake, and the things that were done, feared exceedingly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

And the priest shall cause her to swear, and shall say unto the woman, If no man have lain with thee, and if thou have not gone aside to uncleanness, being under thy husband, be thou free from this water of bitterness that causeth the curse.But if thou have gone aside, being under thy husband, and if thou be defiled, and some man have lain with thee besides thy husband:then the priest shall cause the woman to swear with the oath of cursing, and the priest shall say unto the woman, Jehovah make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when Jehovah doth make thy thigh to fall away, and thy body to swell;

And the men of Israel were distressed that day; for Saul had adjured the people, saying, Cursed be the man that eateth any food until it be evening, and I be avenged on mine enemies. So none of the people tasted food.
