and a sound message that cannot be criticized, so that any opponent will be at a loss, because he has nothing evil to say about us.

Yet do it with courtesy and respect, keeping a good conscience, so that those who slander your good conduct in Christ may be put to shame when they accuse you.

Consequently the supervisors and satraps were trying to find some pretext against Daniel in connection with administrative matters. But they were unable to find any such damaging evidence, because he was trustworthy and guilty of no negligence or corruption.So these men concluded,“ We won’t find any pretext against this man Daniel unless it is in connection with the law of his God.”

Some stood up and gave this false testimony against him:“ We heard him say,‘ I will destroy this temple made with hands and in three days build another not made with hands.’”Yet even on this point their testimony did not agree.
