旁邊站着的有一個人拔了刀，擊了大祭司的奴僕，削掉他的一個耳朵。

我們交戰的武器並不是屬肉體的，乃是有屬神之能力的；能夠攻倒堅固的營壘，

耶穌回答說：『我的國不屬於這世界。我的國若屬於這世界，給我當差事的就要戰鬥、使我不至於被送交給猶太人了。其實我的國不是出於這裏的。』

耶穌轉過身來責備他們。就往別的村莊去了。

彼得對耶穌說：『我就使必須跟你同死，也決不否認你。』眾門徒也都這樣說。

左右的人見所要臨到的事，就說：『主啊，我們使刀擊打可以麼？』其中有一個人擊打了大祭司的僕人，把他的右耳削掉。耶穌回答說：『你們且容許到這地步吧！』就摸那耳朵，醫治了他。

西門彼得有一把刀，就抽出來，擊了大祭司的僕人，砍掉他右邊的耳朵；那僕人名叫馬勒古。於是耶穌對彼得說：『收刀入鞘！父給了我的杯、難道我不喝麼？』

耶穌就對他們說：『但如今呢、有錢囊的可以帶着了；有口袋的也照樣可帶；沒有刀的，要賣衣裳去買刀。我告訴你們，經上所記「他被算跟不法之人同列」這句話是必須實現在我身上的；其實呢、那關於我的事是正要有個結束呢。』他們說：『主啊，請看，這裏有兩把刀呢。』耶穌對他們說：『夠了。』
