站在旁边的一个门徒拔出刀朝大祭司的奴仆砍去，削掉了他一只耳朵。

我们争战的兵器不是属血气的，乃是从上帝而来的能力，可以摧毁坚固的营垒，

耶稣答道：“我的国不属于这个世界，如果我的国属于这个世界，我的臣仆早就起来争战了，我也不会被交在犹太人的手里。但我的国不属于这个世界。”

耶稣转过身来责备他们。

彼得说：“就算要我跟你一起死，我也不会不认你！”其余的门徒也都这样说。

跟随耶稣的人见他们来势汹汹，就说：“主啊，我们该拔刀抵抗吗？”其中一人拔刀朝大祭司的奴仆砍过去，削掉了他的右耳。耶稣却说：“住手！够了！”于是祂摸那奴仆的耳朵，治好了他，

这时，西门·彼得带着一把刀，他拔刀向大祭司的奴仆马勒古砍去，削掉了他的右耳。耶稣对彼得说：“收刀入鞘吧！我父赐给我的杯，我怎能不喝呢？”

耶稣说：“但现在如果有钱袋或背包，都要带着；如果没有刀剑，要卖掉衣服买刀剑。我告诉你们，‘祂要被列在罪犯中’这句经文必在我身上应验，因为圣经上有关我的事情快要实现了。”他们说：“主啊，请看，这里有两把刀。”耶稣说：“够了。”
