“ Not during the festival,” they said,“ so there won’t be rioting among the people.”

只是说：“当节的日子不可，恐怕民间生乱。”

“ But not during the festival,” they said,“ or there may be a riot among the people.”

“ But not during the feast,” they said.“ The people may stir up trouble.”

But they said,“ Not during the feast, lest there be an uproar among the people.”

“ But not during the Passover celebration,” they agreed,“ or the people may riot.”

“ Not during the festival,” they said,“ so there won’t be rioting among the people.”

But they were saying,“ Not during the festival, otherwise a riot might occur among the people.”

But they said,“ Not during the feast, lest there be an uproar among the people.”

But they said, Not during the feast, lest a tumult arise among the people.

But they said, Not on the feast[ day], lest there be an uproar among the people.

But they said,“ Not during the feast, so that there won’t be a riot among the people.”

When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that a riot was starting instead, he took some water, washed his hands in front of the crowd, and said,“ I am innocent of this man’s blood. See to it yourselves!”

Though he wanted to kill him, he feared the crowd, since they regarded him as a prophet.

But if we say,‘ From men,’ we’re afraid of the crowd, because everyone thought John was a prophet.”

Then Jesus said to them,“ All of you will run away, because it is written: I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.

I declare the end from the beginning, and from long ago what is not yet done, saying: My plan will take place, and I will do all My will.

Many plans are in a man’s heart, but the Lord’s decree will prevail.

On the first day of Unleavened Bread, when they sacrifice the Passover lamb, His disciples asked Him,“ Where do You want us to go and prepare the Passover so You may eat it?”

No wisdom, no understanding, and no counsel will prevail against the Lord.

Even human wrath will praise You; You will clothe Yourself with their remaining wrath.

“ Not during the festival,” they said,“ or there may be rioting among the people.”

Then the Day of Unleavened Bread came when the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed.

Who is there who speaks and it happens, unless the Lord has ordained it?

But if we say,‘ From men,’ all the people will stone us, because they are convinced that John was a prophet.”

Then they took Jesus from Caiaphas to the governor’s headquarters. It was early morning. They did not enter the headquarters themselves; otherwise they would be defiled and unable to eat the Passover.
