耶穌和門徒走近耶路撒冷，來到伯法其，橄欖山那裏，耶穌便差遣兩個門徒，

以「詩篇」、頌詞、詩歌、彼此對說，用心詠讚歌頌主；時常奉我們主耶穌基督的名為萬事感謝父上帝，

耶穌出來，照習慣往橄欖山去；門徒也跟着他。

耶穌說了這些話，就同門徒出去，到汲淪谿谷那邊。在那裏有個園子，他和門徒就進去。把耶穌送官的猶大也知道那地方，因為耶穌同門徒屢次聚集在那裏。於是猶大領了兵隊、和祭司長跟法利賽人的差役，帶着燈籠火把和武器來到那裏。耶穌知道所要臨到自己的一切事，就出來，問他們說：『你們找誰？』

白天耶穌在殿裏教訓人，夜裏就出去到那叫橄欖園的山上住宿。

要讓基督的話豐豐富富地住在你們裏面，用各樣智慧彼此教導勸戒，以「詩篇」、頌詞、靈歌、帶着感恩的情調、用心詠讚上帝。凡你們所作的、無論是甚麼、在言語上或行為上、都要奉主耶穌的名去作，藉着他而感謝父上帝。

但這是要叫世人知道我愛父，並且父怎樣囑咐我，我就怎樣行。起來，我們就走吧。

你們要大聲呼頌上帝我們的力量；要出聲歡讚雅各的上帝。要唱起樂曲，擊打手鼓，彈美妙的琴瑟。要在初一日吹號角，在月望我們過節的日期吹。因為這是給以色列定的律例，是雅各之上帝立的典章。
