當耶穌和門徒們臨近耶路撒冷，來到橄欖山附近的伯法其的時候，耶穌派了兩個門徒，

用詩篇、聖詩、屬靈的詩歌彼此對說，從你們的心裡，歌頌讚美主；奉我們主耶穌基督的名，為一切常常感謝父神；

耶穌出來，照他的習慣往橄欖山去，門徒們也跟著他。

耶穌說了這些話，就與他的門徒們一起出去，過了汲淪溪谷。在那裡有一個園子，耶穌和他的門徒們進去了。出賣耶穌的猶大也知道那地方，因為耶穌經常在那裡與他的門徒們一同聚集。於是猶大領著一隊士兵，還有祭司長們和法利賽人的差役們，帶著燈籠、火把、兵器來到那裡。耶穌知道就要臨到自己的一切，於是上前對他們說：「你們找誰？」

耶穌白天在聖殿裡教導人，夜間出去到那叫做「橄欖園」的山裡過夜。

你們要讓基督的話語豐豐富富地住在你們裡面，要用一切的智慧彼此教導、勸誡，懷著感恩的心，以詩篇、聖詩、屬靈的詩歌來歌頌神。你們無論做什麼，或在言語上或在行為上，都要奉主耶穌的名，藉著他感謝父神。

不過我照著父的吩咐如此去做，是為要世界知道我愛父。「起來，我們走吧！

他們唱了讚美詩，就出來，往橄欖山去了。耶穌對他們說：「你們都將被絆倒，因為經上記著：『我將擊打牧人，羊群就被分散。』但是我復活以後，要在你們之前到加利利去。」彼得對耶穌說：「即使所有的人被絆倒，我還是不會。」可是耶穌對他說：「我確實地告訴你：今天，就在今夜，雞叫兩遍以前，你會三次不認我。」彼得卻堅決地說：「就算我必須與你同死，我也絕不會不認你。」所有的門徒也都這麼說。

你們當向神——我們的力量歡唱，向雅各的神歡呼！當高唱頌歌，搖起鈴鼓，彈奏美妙的豎琴與里拉琴！當在新月時、在滿月時，在我們過節的日子吹響號角！因為這是給以色列的律例，是雅各之神的法規。
