The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.

For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying,“ This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying,“ This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.

Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.”

And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts,

Now this may be interpreted allegorically: these women are two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai, bearing children for slavery; she is Hagar.Now Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia; she corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children.

and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Christ.

Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass, and taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds.
