The disciples became very sad. One after the other, they began to say to him,“ Surely you don’t mean me, Lord, do you?”

眾憂甚、遞相問曰、主、我乎、

門徒憂甚、一一問曰、主、是我乎、

門徒不勝戚戚、一一問之曰：『主、予乎？』

They were very sad and began to say to him one after the other,“ Surely you don’t mean me, Lord?”

And they were very sorrowful and began to say to him one after another,“ Is it I, Lord?”

Greatly distressed, each one asked in turn,“ Am I the one, Lord?”

Deeply distressed, each one began to say to him,“ Surely not I, Lord?”

Being deeply grieved, they began saying to Him, each one:“ Surely it is not I, Lord?”

And they were exceedingly sorrowful, and each of them began to say to Him,“ Lord, is it I?”

And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began to say unto him every one, Is it I, Lord?

Deeply distressed, each one began to say to Him,“ Surely not I, Lord?”

And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?

They became greatly distressed and each one began to say to him,“ Surely not I, Lord?”

They were exceedingly sorrowful, and each began to ask him,“ It isn’t me, is it, Lord?”

The disciples became sad. One by one they said to him,“ Surely you don’t mean me?”“ It is one of you,” Jesus replied.“ It is the one who dips bread into the bowl with me.

The apostles began to ask one another about this. They wondered which one of them would do it.

His disciples stared at one another. They had no idea which one of them he meant.The disciple Jesus loved was next to him at the table.Simon Peter motioned to that disciple. He said,“ Ask Jesus which one he means.”The disciple was leaning back against Jesus. He asked him,“ Lord, who is it?”

Jesus spoke to him a third time. He asked,“ Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter felt bad because Jesus asked him the third time,“ Do you love me?” He answered,“ Lord, you know all things. You know that I love you.” Jesus said,“ Feed my sheep.
