“ As you know, the Passover Feast is two days away. The Son of Man will be handed over to be nailed to a cross.”

Now the Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread were only two days away, and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were scheming to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him.“ But not during the festival,” they said,“ or the people may riot.”

Now the Festival of Unleavened Bread, called the Passover, was approaching,and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some way to get rid of Jesus, for they were afraid of the people.

“ We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to deathand will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!”

Now Judas, who betrayed him, knew the place, because Jesus had often met there with his disciples.

It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus.

When they came together in Galilee, he said to them,“ The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men.

The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born.”Then Judas, the one who would betray him, said,“ Surely you don’t mean me, Rabbi?” Jesus answered,“ You have said so.”

When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, many went up from the country to Jerusalem for their ceremonial cleansing before the Passover.

He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee:‘ The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’”

“ Do not offer the blood of a sacrifice to me along with anything containing yeast, and do not let any of the sacrifice from the Passover Festival remain until morning.

When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. Eat it in haste; it is the Lord’s Passover.“ On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn of both people and animals, and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the Lord.The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.“ This is a day you are to commemorate; for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the Lord— a lasting ordinance.

And he said to them,“ I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.

“ I have sinned,” he said,“ for I have betrayed innocent blood.”“ What is that to us?” they replied.“ That’s your responsibility.”

Six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus lived, whom Jesus had raised from the dead.
