過兩天就是逾越節和除酵節了；祭司長和經學士直想法子要怎樣用詭詐抓住耶穌，來殺他。他們說，當節期不可，恐怕會有民間的擾亂。

除酵的節期、又叫逾越節、近了。祭司長和經學士直想法子要怎樣殺掉耶穌；他們是懼怕民眾的。

『看吧，我們上耶路撒冷去，人子必被送交給祭司長和經學士；他們必定他死罪，把他送交給外國人，去戲弄、鞭打、並釘十字架；第三天他就必得甦活起來。』

把耶穌送官的猶大也知道那地方，因為耶穌同門徒屢次聚集在那裏。

逾越節期以前、耶穌知道他的鐘點——他離開這世界、往父那裏去的鐘點——已經到了。他既愛世界上屬自己的人，就愛他們到底。喫飯的時候、（魔鬼早已將把耶穌送官的意思放在加畧人西門的兒子猶大心裏）

他們在加利利聚首的時候，耶穌對他們說：『人子將要被送交在人手裏；

人子固然必須去，照指着他所記的；但是那人、人子由他而被送官的、有禍啊！那人若不生下來，對於他倒好。』把耶穌送官的猶大應時對耶穌說：『難道是我麼，老師？』耶穌對他說：『你說的是。』

猶太人的逾越節近了；逾越節以前，有許多人從鄉下上耶路撒冷，要行禮使自己清潔。

你們要想起耶穌還在加利利時怎樣對你們講過：人子必須被送交在罪人手裏，被釘十字架，第三天復起。』

『你不可將我的祭牲的血跟有酵的餅一同祭獻；也不可留逾越節期的祭物過夜到早晨。

猶太人的逾越節近了，耶穌就上耶路撒冷去。

你們要這樣喫：腰間束着帶，腳上穿着鞋，手中拿着行杖，慌慌張張地喫：這是向永恆主守的逾越節。這一夜裏、我要巡行埃及地，把埃及地一切頭胎生的、無論是人是牲口、都擊殺掉；埃及一切神明我也要判罰：我永恆主。在你所住的房屋上、這血要給你們做記號；我一見這血。就把你們越過去；我擊打埃及地的時候，就不至於有疫病臨到你們身上來滅你們。『這一日要給你們做記念日：你們要守為敬拜永恆主的節；要世世代代地守，作為永遠的條例。

耶穌對他們說：『在受害以前，我非常切願地要同你們喫這逾越節的筵席。

說：『我把無辜人送官處死，我有罪了。』他們說：『那與我們何干？你自理吧！』

於是耶穌在逾越節前六天來到伯大尼、拉撒路所在的地方；拉撒路是耶穌從死人中所甦活起來的。
