It was now two days before the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to arrest him by stealth and kill him,for they said,“ Not during the feast, lest there be an uproar from the people.”

Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread drew near, which is called the Passover.And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to put him to death, for they feared the people.

“ See, we are going up to Jerusalem. And the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to deathand deliver him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified, and he will be raised on the third day.”

Now Judas, who betrayed him, also knew the place, for Jesus often met there with his disciples.

Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.During supper, when the devil had already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him,

As they were gathering in Galilee, Jesus said to them,“ The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men,

The Son of Man goes as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.”Judas, who would betray him, answered,“ Is it I, Rabbi?” He said to him,“ You have said so.”

Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and many went up from the country to Jerusalem before the Passover to purify themselves.

He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee,that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.”

“ You shall not offer the blood of my sacrifice with anything leavened, or let the sacrifice of the Feast of the Passover remain until the morning.

The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

In this manner you shall eat it: with your belt fastened, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. And you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord’s Passover.For I will pass through the land of Egypt that night, and I will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and on all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am the Lord.The blood shall be a sign for you, on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you, when I strike the land of Egypt.“ This day shall be for you a memorial day, and you shall keep it as a feast to the Lord; throughout your generations, as a statute forever, you shall keep it as a feast.

And he said to them,“ I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.

saying,“ I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” They said,“ What is that to us? See to it yourself.”

Six days before the Passover, Jesus therefore came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead.
