過兩天就是逾越節和除酵節了。祭司長們和經文士們在圖謀怎樣用詭計拘捕耶穌，把他殺掉。不過他們說：「不可在節日期間，免得民眾發生騷亂。」

除酵節——又叫逾越節——快到了。祭司長們和經文士們在圖謀怎樣能殺掉耶穌，因為他們怕民眾。

「看，我們現在上耶路撒冷去，人子將被出賣給祭司長們和經文士們。他們要定他死罪，並且要把他交給外邦人去戲弄、鞭打、釘上十字架；然後在第三天，他要復活。」

出賣耶穌的猶大也知道那地方，因為耶穌經常在那裡與他的門徒們一同聚集。

逾越節前，耶穌知道他離開這世界回到父那裡去的時候到了。他一直愛世界上那些屬自己的人，並且愛他們到底。晚餐的時候，魔鬼已經把出賣耶穌的念頭放在加略人西門的兒子猶大的心裡。

他們聚集在加利利的時候，耶穌對門徒們說：「人子將要被交在人的手中。

人子確實要離去，正如經上指著他所寫的，但是出賣人子的那個人有禍了。對他來說，沒有出生倒好。」那出賣耶穌的猶大應聲說：「拉比，不會是我吧？」耶穌對他說：「你已經說了。」

猶太人的逾越節快到了。許多人從鄉下上耶路撒冷去，要在節日前潔淨自己。

他不在這裡，已經復活了！你們當想起他還在加利利的時候怎樣告訴你們，說『人子必須被交在罪人手中，被釘十字架，然後在第三天復活。』」

猶太人的逾越節快到了，耶穌上耶路撒冷去。

耶穌對他們說：「我一直非常渴望在我受難之前，與你們一起吃這逾越節的晚餐。

說：「我出賣了無辜人的血，我有罪了。」但是他們說：「這與我們有什麼關係？你自己看著辦吧！」

逾越節前六天，耶穌來到拉撒路所在的伯大尼，就是他使拉撒路從死人中復活的地方。
