再過兩天就是逾越節和除酵節，祭司長和律法教師正暗暗地找機會拘捕、殺害耶穌。他們說：「我們不能在節期那天下手，以免在百姓中引起騷亂。」

除酵節，又名逾越節，快到了。祭司長和律法教師因為害怕百姓，便密謀如何殺害耶穌。

「你們要留意，我們現在前往耶路撒冷，人子將被交給祭司長和律法教師。他們要判祂死刑，把祂交給外族人，受嘲弄、鞭打，被釘在十字架上。但第三天祂必復活。」

因為耶穌時常帶著門徒到那裡聚會，所以出賣耶穌的猶大也知道那地方。

逾越節之前，耶穌知道自己快要離開世界回到父那裡了。祂一直愛世上屬自己的人，並且愛他們到底。吃晚飯的時候，魔鬼已經把出賣耶穌的念頭放在加略人西門的兒子猶大的心裡。

他們聚集在加利利的時候，耶穌對他們說：「人子將要被出賣，交在人手裡。

人子一定會受害，正如聖經上有關祂的記載，但出賣人子的人有禍了，他還不如不生在這世上！」出賣耶穌的猶大問祂：「老師，是我嗎？」耶穌說：「你自己說了。」

猶太人的逾越節快到了，有很多人從鄉下上耶路撒冷，預備在過節前潔淨自己。

祂不在這裡，已經復活了！記住祂在加利利對你們說的話，『人子必須被交在罪人的手中，被釘在十字架上，在第三天復活。』」

「不可把祭牲的血和有酵的餅一起獻給我。逾越節的祭物也不可留到第二天早晨。

猶太人的逾越節快到了，耶穌便上耶路撒冷去。

你們吃的時候，要束腰、穿鞋、手中拿杖，要趕快吃，這是耶和華的逾越節。「因為那一夜我要巡遍埃及，把境內所有長子和頭生的牲畜全都殺掉，也要嚴懲埃及所有的神明。我是耶和華。塗在你們房屋上的血是一個記號，我經過的時候，見到這血就會越過。我擊打埃及的時候，那災禍不會落到你們身上。你們要記住這一天，守為耶和華的節期，作為世世代代永遠的定例。

耶穌對他們說：「我一直盼望在受難之前和你們同吃這個逾越節的宴席。

「我出賣了清白無辜的人，我犯罪了！」他們說：「那是你自己的事，跟我們有什麼關係？」

逾越節前六天，耶穌來到伯大尼，就是祂叫拉撒路從死裡復活的村子。
