這樣，事奉的工作都安排好了，照王所吩咐的，祭司站在自己的位上，利未人按着班次侍立。他們宰了逾越節的羔羊，祭司從他們手裏接過血來灑出去；利未人剝皮，

若一家的人太少，吃不了一隻羔羊，就要按照人數和隔壁的鄰舍共取一隻；你們要按每人的食量來估算羔羊。你們要從綿羊或山羊中取一隻無殘疾、一歲的公羔羊，要把牠留到本月十四日；那日黃昏的時候，以色列全會眾要把羔羊宰了。他們要取一些血，塗在他們吃羔羊的房屋兩邊的門框上和門楣上。當晚要吃羔羊的肉；要用火烤了，與無酵餅和苦菜一起吃。

你們若遵行我所命令的，就是我的朋友。
