On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked,“ Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?”

It was the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. The disciples came to Jesus. They asked,“ Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover meal?”

And anyone, whether foreigner or native- born, who eats anything with yeast in it must be cut off from the community of Israel.Eat nothing made with yeast. Wherever you live, you must eat unleavened bread.”

Then came the day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed.Jesus sent Peter and John, saying,“ Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover.”“ Where do you want us to prepare for it?” they asked.He replied,“ As you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him to the house that he enters,and say to the owner of the house,‘ The Teacher asks: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’He will show you a large room upstairs, all furnished. Make preparations there.”They left and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover.

On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, when it was customary to sacrifice the Passover lamb, Jesus’ disciples asked him,“ Where do you want us to go and make preparations for you to eat the Passover?”So he sent two of his disciples, telling them,“ Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him.Say to the owner of the house he enters,‘ The Teacher asks: Where is my guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’He will show you a large room upstairs, furnished and ready. Make preparations for us there.”The disciples left, went into the city and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover.

Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the members of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight.

So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.

After Jesus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two- drachma temple tax came to Peter and asked,“ Doesn’t your teacher pay the temple tax?”“ Yes, he does,” he replied. When Peter came into the house, Jesus was the first to speak.“ What do you think, Simon?” he asked.“ From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes— from their own children or from others?”

“‘ On the fourteenth day of the first month the Lord’s Passover is to be held.On the fifteenth day of this month there is to be a festival; for seven days eat bread made without yeast.

Observe the month of Aviv and celebrate the Passover of the Lord your God, because in the month of Aviv he brought you out of Egypt by night.Sacrifice as the Passover to the Lord your God an animal from your flock or herd at the place the Lord will choose as a dwelling for his Name.Do not eat it with bread made with yeast, but for seven days eat unleavened bread, the bread of affliction, because you left Egypt in haste— so that all the days of your life you may remember the time of your departure from Egypt.Let no yeast be found in your possession in all your land for seven days. Do not let any of the meat you sacrifice on the evening of the first day remain until morning.

The Lord’s Passover begins at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month.On the fifteenth day of that month the Lord’s Festival of Unleavened Bread begins; for seven days you must eat bread made without yeast.

Jesus replied,“ Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented.

For seven days eat bread made without yeast and on the seventh day hold a festival to the Lord.Eat unleavened bread during those seven days; nothing with yeast in it is to be seen among you, nor shall any yeast be seen anywhere within your borders.On that day tell your son,‘ I do this because of what the Lord did for me when I came out of Egypt.’
