從正月十四日晚上起，直到本月二十一日晚上止，你們要吃無酵餅。七日之內在你們的家中不可有酵；因為凡吃有酵之物的，無論是外國人或是本地人，那人必從以色列的會眾中被剪除。凡是有酵的，你們都不可吃；在你們一切居住的地方，你們都要吃無酵餅。”

除酵日到了，在這一天應當宰殺逾越節的羊羔。耶穌差派彼得和約翰，說：“你們去為我們預備逾越節的晚餐給我們吃。”他們說：“你要我們在哪裡預備呢？”他說：“你們進了城，必有一個人頂著水罐，迎面而來，你們就跟著他，到他所進的那一家，對家主說，老師問你：‘客廳在哪裡？我和門徒好在那裡吃逾越節的晚餐。’他必指示你們樓上一間布置整齊的大房子，你們就在那裡預備。”他們去了，所遇見的正像耶穌所說的一樣，就預備好了逾越節的晚餐。

除酵節的第一天，就是宰殺逾越節羊羔的那一天，門徒問耶穌：“你要我們到哪裡去，為你預備逾越節的晚餐呢？”他就差派兩個門徒，對他們說：“你們到城裡去，必有一個拿著水瓶的人，向你們迎面而來，你們就跟著他，無論他進入哪一家，你們要對那家主說，老師說：‘我的客廳在哪裡？我和門徒好在那裡吃逾越節的晚餐。’他必指給你們樓上一間布置整齊、預備妥當的大房間，你們就在那裡為我們預備。”門徒出去，進了城，所遇見的正如耶穌所說的，就預備好了逾越節的晚餐。

你們要把羊羔留到本月十四日，在黃昏的時候（“在黃昏的時候”直譯是“兩黃昏之間”），以色列全體會眾要把羊羔宰殺。

門徒照耶穌的指示去作，預備好了逾越節的晚餐。

他們來到迦百農，收殿稅的人前來對彼得說：“你們的老師不納稅嗎？”他說：“納。”他進到屋子裡，耶穌先問他：“西門，你認為怎樣？地上的君王向誰徵收關稅和丁稅？向自己的兒子還是外人呢？”

“‘正月十四日，是耶和華的逾越節。這月十五日是節期；要吃無酵餅七日。

“你要守亞筆月，向耶和華你的神守逾越節，因為耶和華你的神在亞筆月的一個晚上，把你從埃及地領出來。你要在耶和華選擇立為他名的居所的地方，把羊和牛作逾越節的祭牲獻給耶和華你的神。你吃這祭的時候，不可和有酵的餅一同吃；七日之內，你要吃無酵餅，就是困苦餅，因為你是急急忙忙從埃及地出來的，好使你一生的年日都可以記念你從埃及地出來的日子。七天之內，在你的全境不可見有酵。第一天晚上你獻的祭肉，一點也不可剩下，留到早晨。

“正月十四日黃昏的時候（“黃昏的時候”直譯是“兩黃昏之間”），是耶和華的逾越節。這月十五日是耶和華的無酵節；你們要吃無酵餅七日。

耶穌回答：“暫且這樣作吧。我們理當這樣履行全部的義。”於是約翰答應了他。

你要吃無酵餅七日，第七日要向耶和華守節。七日之中你要吃無酵餅；在你四境之內，不可見有發過酵之物在你面前，也不可見有酵在你那裡。在那日，你要告訴你的兒子說：‘這是因為耶和華在我從埃及出來的時候為我所行的事。’
