“聪明的伴娘回答说，‘不行，我们的油不够大家用的，你们去油店买吧！’

“但那些聪明的回答说：‘不行，绝不够我们和你们用的。你们还是到卖油的那里去，为自己买吧。’

智者對曰：「共用恐將不給、盍就市購之。」

“‘ No,’ they replied,‘ there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’

“‘ No,’ they replied.‘ There may not be enough for all of us. Instead, go to those who sell oil. Buy some for yourselves.’

But the wise answered, saying,‘ Since there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.’

“ But the others replied,‘ We don’t have enough for all of us. Go to a shop and buy some for yourselves.’

“ The wise ones answered,‘ No, there won’t be enough for us and for you. Go instead to those who sell oil, and buy some for yourselves.’

However, the prudent ones answered,‘ No, there most certainly would not be enough for us and you too; go instead to the merchants and buy some for yourselves.’

But the wise answered, saying,‘ No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’

But the wise answered, saying, Peradventure there will not be enough for us and you: go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

“ The sensible ones answered,‘ No, there won’t be enough for us and for you. Go instead to those who sell, and buy oil for yourselves.’

一個也不能買贖自己，不能將贖價交給上帝，使他永久活着，不見冥坑；因為贖他性命的價值極貴，他只好永遠罷休，勿圖自贖。

因為你說：我富足，我得了財富，我一無所缺；卻不知你正是那慘苦、可憐、貧窮、瞎眼、赤身的。我替你出主意，你要從我買那經火鍛煉的金子，使你得財富；也買白衣披上，讓你赤裸的下體不露出；又買膏藥膏進你的眼，使你能看見。

『要趁永恆主可找到時尋找他，趁他相近時呼求他。惡人要離棄自己的路；奸惡之輩要棄掉自己的意圖，回轉來歸永恆主，讓永恆主憐憫他，來歸我們的上帝，因為上帝廣行赦免。

永恆主對我說：『就使有摩西和撒母耳站在我面前來代求，我的心也不向着這人民。從我面前給打發走，叫他們出去！

那麼即使有挪亞、但以理、約伯、這三人在那中間，他們也只能因自己的義而援救自己的性命：這是主永恆主發神諭說的。或者我若使惡獸經過那地而蹧踐它，使地荒涼，以致因這些獸人都不得經過；即使有這三人在那中間，主永恆主發神諭說，我指着永活的我來起誓，他們也必不能援救他們的兒女，只有他們自己能得救援，那地仍必荒涼。

『哦，口渴的人哪，個個來到水邊哦！沒有銀錢的人哪，來買去喫哦！不用銀錢，不用付代價，來買酒和奶子哦！你們為甚麼花錢去買那不是食物的？為甚麼用你們勞碌得來的去買那不能使人飽足的呢？你們要注意聽我，就得以喫美物，心中以肥甘為樂趣。你們要傾耳以聽，要來找我！你們要聽，就得以活；我必跟你們立個永遠的約，就是施給大衛那可信可靠之堅愛的。

故此你要改悔你這個惡，要祈求主，使你心裏的意圖可得赦免；
