For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink,

punishing those who don’t know God, and to those who don’t obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus,

If any man doesn’t love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be cursed. Come, Lord!

that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who doesn’t honor the Son doesn’t honor the Father who sent him.

One who has my commandments and keeps them, that person is one who loves me. One who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will reveal myself to him.”

Therefore Jesus said to them,“ If God were your father, you would love me, for I came out and have come from God. For I haven’t come of myself, but he sent me.Why don’t you understand my speech? Because you can’t hear my word.You are of your father, the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and doesn’t stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks on his own; for he is a liar, and the father of lies.

He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me isn’t worthy of me.He who doesn’t take his cross and follow after me, isn’t worthy of me.

for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in.

who drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the best oils; but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.

We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who doesn’t love his brother remains in death.Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him.By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.But whoever has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, then closes his heart of compassion against him, how does God’s love remain in him?

And if a brother or sister is naked and in lack of daily food,and one of you tells them,“ Go in peace. Be warmed and filled;” yet you didn’t give them the things the body needs, what good is it?Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself.Yes, a man will say,“ You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works.You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe, and shudder.But do you want to know, vain man, that faith apart from works is dead?Wasn’t Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son on the altar?You see that faith worked with his works, and by works faith was perfected.So the Scripture was fulfilled which says,“ Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God.You see then that by works, a man is justified, and not only by faith.

If a man says,“ I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who doesn’t love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
