那領五千銀子的又帶着那另外的五千來，說：『主啊，你交給我五千銀子。請看，我又賺了五千。』

那領了五千兩銀子的，帶著另外的五千兩上前來，說：『主啊，你交託給我五千兩銀子，請看，我另外賺了五千兩。』

受五千者至、又攜五千曰、主付我五千、又獲五千矣、

受五千者至、又攜五千、曰、主予我五千、我獲五千、倍之矣、

受五他連得者至、又攜五他連得曰、主人、付我五他連得、我因之又獲五他連得、

受五千者、攜同贏餘五千以至、而白主曰：「吾主昔以五千金見託予茲又獲五千。」

“ So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying,‘ Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’

And he that received the five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: lo, I have gained other five talents.

The man who had received five talents approached, presented five more talents, and said,‘ Master, you gave me five talents. Look, I’ve earned five more talents.’

He who received the five talents came and brought another five talents, saying,‘ Lord, you delivered to me five talents. Behold, I have gained another five talents in addition to them.’

But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus— the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.

Now someone may argue,“ Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say,“ How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.”

I solemnly urge you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who will someday judge the living and the dead when he comes to set up his Kingdom:Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear.They will reject the truth and chase after myths.But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you.As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God. The time of my death is near.I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.And now the prize awaits me— the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.

That’s why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me.

The first servant reported,‘ Master, I invested your money and made ten times the original amount!’“‘ Well done!’ the king exclaimed.‘ You are a good servant. You have been faithful with the little I entrusted to you, so you will be governor of ten cities as your reward.’

But whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out his special favor on me— and not without results. For I have worked harder than any of the other apostles; yet it was not I but God who was working through me by his grace.
