“ Who then is the faithful and sensible slave whom his master put in charge of his household slaves, to give them their food at the proper time?

「究竟誰是那又忠心又聰明的奴僕——受主人委任統管他家裡的人、按時給他們分糧的人呢？

孰為忠智之僕、主任之督其家人、依時予之糧乎、

孰是忠智之僕、主任之督其家人、依時而予糧乎、

孰是忠智之僕、家主所任以督其家人、按時而予其糧乎、

設有忠智之僕、受家主之託、督其家人、按時給食；

“ Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time?

“ Suppose a master puts one of his slaves in charge of the other slaves in his house. The slave’s job is to give them their food at the right time. The master wants a faithful and wise slave for this.

“ Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time?

“ A faithful, sensible servant is one to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his other household servants and feeding them.

“ Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master has put in charge of his household, to give them food at the proper time?

“ Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season?

Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath set over his household, to give them their food in due season?

“ Who then is a faithful and sensible slave, whom his master has put in charge of his household, to give them food at the proper time?

Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

“ Who then is the faithful and wise slave, whom the master has put in charge of his household, to give the other slaves their food at the proper time?

“ Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has set over his household, to give them their food in due season?

His master said to him,‘ Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter the joy of your master.’

His master said to him,‘ Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter the joy of your master.’

Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken later;

The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful people who will be able to teach others also.

Peter said,“ Lord, are You telling this parable to us, or to everyone else as well?”And the Lord said,“ Who then is the faithful and sensible steward, whom his master will put in charge of his servants, to give them their rations at the proper time?Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes.

This is the way any person is to regard us: as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.In this case, moreover, it is required of stewards that one be found trustworthy.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into service,

‘ I know where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is; and you hold firmly to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days of Antipas, My witness, My faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.

Now when they had finished breakfast, Jesus* said to Simon Peter,“ Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?” He* said to Him,“ Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He* said to him,“ Tend My lambs.”He* said to him again, a second time,“ Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” He* said to Him,“ Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He* said to him,“ Shepherd My sheep.”He* said to him the third time,“ Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” Peter was hurt because He said to him the third time,“ Do you love Me?” And he said to Him,“ Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus* said to him,“ Tend My sheep.

For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’Then the righteous will answer Him,‘ Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink?And when did we see You as a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You?And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’And the King will answer and say to them,‘ Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of Mine, you did it for Me.’

“ Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts on them, will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

And he said to him,‘ Well done, good slave; since you have been faithful in a very little thing, you are to have authority over ten cities.’

As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the multifaceted grace of God.Whoever speaks is to do so as one who is speaking actual words of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.

“ Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be as wary as serpents, and as innocent as doves.

And I, brothers and sisters, could not speak to you as spiritual people, but only as fleshly, as to infants in Christ.I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to consume it. But even now you are not yet able,

“ Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Prophesy and say to those shepherds,‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ Woe, shepherds of Israel who have been feeding themselves! Should the shepherds not feed the flock?

“ The one who is faithful in a very little thing is also faithful in much; and the one who is unrighteous in a very little thing is also unrighteous in much.Therefore if you have not been faithful in the use of unrighteous wealth, who will entrust the true wealth to you?And if you have not been faithful in the use of that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own?

And He gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, some as pastors and teachers,for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ;until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.

Five of them were foolish, and five were prudent.

And Jesus said to them,“ Therefore every scribe who has become a disciple of the kingdom of heaven is like a head of a household, who brings out of his treasure new things and old.”

Therefore, I urge elders among you, as your fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and one who is also a fellow partaker of the glory that is to be revealed:shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not with greed but with eagerness;nor yet as domineering over those assigned to your care, but by proving to be examples to the flock.
