so then let us not sleep, as do the rest, but let us watch and be sober.

Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: abide ye here, and watch with me.And he went forward a little, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass away from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore of sound mind, and be sober unto prayer:

Therefore be ye also ready; for in an hour that ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Be thou watchful, and establish the things that remain, which were ready to die: for I have found no works of thine perfected before my God.Remember therefore how thou hast received and didst hear; and keep it, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.It is as when a man, sojourning in another country, having left his house, and given authority to his servants, to each one his work, commanded also the porter to watch.Watch therefore: for ye know not when the lord of the house cometh, whether at even, or at midnight, or at cockcrowing, or in the morning;lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
