自當謹慎、勿以饜飫沉湎、世之憧擾累心、恐其日突然臨爾、

亞庇該至拿八所、見其設盛饌、可儗侯王、拿八醉甚、中心喜悅、是夕事無鉅細、俱不以告。詰朝拿八宿酲已解、其妻以實告之、拿八喪膽、屹焉如石。越十日、耶和華擊拿八遂死。

倘其僕、意主將遲遲而至、遂扑僕婢、食飲且醉、

爾姊所多馬、與其眾女、所犯之罪、即驕傲、饕餮、逸志、不恤貧乏、詡詡自誇、干我所痛疾之事、故我不得不去之。

夫復生之際不嫁不娶、如上帝之使者在天、

乃自謂曰、我有多物、積為歷年之用、此心可安然飲食喜樂也、

今萬有之主耶和華、頒厥詔命、使爾號哭、薙髮衣麻、惟爾欣喜歡忭、宰牛殺羊、食肉飲酒、曰、寧圖飲食、明日死至矣。萬有之主耶和華、諭示於我曰、斯咎雖死不贖、萬有之主耶和華已言之矣。

即與妻子及媳、俱登方舟、以避洪水。

居位之人、所行暴虐、以為報應之理、甚屬茫昧、寢於象牙之榻、卧於棲息之床、羔則取之於群、犢則執之於牢、供其饜飫、彈琴作歌、製樂器、一如大闢、以最巨之盂、盛酒醴、以至貴之油、膏肌膚、於約瑟之難、毫不矜憫、其禍必不遠矣。

兄弟乎、吾言今而後、窘逼之時也、故有妻者、當如無妻、哭者、當如無哭、喜者、當如無喜、買者、當如無得、享世勿過度、蓋變遷者世故、

既至、見亞馬力人、遍於斯土、緣其伐非利士人、及猶大地、攘奪貨財甚多、故飲食舞蹈。大闢擊之、自黎明至次日之夕、盡殺其眾、靡有孑遺、惟四百少者、乘駝而遁。
