挪亞的日子怎樣，人子的日子也要怎樣。那時，人又吃又喝，又娶又嫁，直到挪亞進方舟的那日，洪水就來，把他們全都滅了。同樣，就像在羅得的日子，人又吃又喝，又買又賣，又耕種又建造，

行事為人要端正，好像在白晝行走。不可荒宴醉酒；不可好色淫蕩；不可紛爭嫉妒。總要披戴主耶穌基督，不要只顧滿足肉體，去放縱私慾。

眾人異口同聲地推辭。頭一個對他說：『我買了一塊地，必須去看看。請你准我辭了。』另一個說：『我買了五對牛，要去試一試。請你准我辭了。』又有一個說：『我才娶了妻子，所以不能去。』

「你們要謹慎，免得被貪食、醉酒和今生的憂慮壓住你們的心，那日子就忽然臨到你們，

上帝的兒子們看見人的女子美貌，就隨意挑選，娶來為妻。

亞比該到拿八那裏，看哪，他在家裏擺設宴席，如同王的宴席。拿八心情舒暢，酩酊大醉。所以亞比該大小事都沒有告訴他，直等到早晨天亮的時候。到了早晨，拿八酒醒了，他的妻子把這些事都告訴他，他就發心臟病快死了，僵如石頭。過了十天，耶和華擊打拿八，他就死了。

如果那僕人心裏說『我的主人會來得遲』，就動手打僮僕和使女，並且吃喝醉酒，

看哪，你的妹妹所多瑪的罪孽是這樣：她和她的女兒們都驕傲，糧源充足，大享安逸，卻不扶持困苦和貧窮人的手。她們狂傲，在我面前做可憎的事，我看見了就把她們除掉。

在復活的時候，人也不娶也不嫁，而是像天上的天使一樣。

然後要對我自己說：你這個人哪，你有許多財物積存，可供多年享用，只管安安逸逸吃喝快樂吧！』

當那日，萬軍之主耶和華使人哭泣哀號，頭上光禿，身披麻布。看哪，人卻歡喜快樂，宰牛殺羊，吃肉喝酒：「讓我們吃吃喝喝吧！因為明天要死了。」萬軍之耶和華開啟我的耳朵：「這罪孽直到你們死，斷不得赦免！」這是萬軍之主耶和華說的。

挪亞同他的兒子、妻子和媳婦都進入方舟，躲避洪水。

你們以為降禍的日子尚遠，卻使殘暴的統治臨近。「那些躺臥在象牙床上，舒身在榻上的，吃羣中的羔羊和棚裏的牛犢。他們以琴瑟逍遙歌唱，為自己作曲，像大衛一樣；以大碗喝酒，用上等油抹身，卻不為約瑟所受的苦難憂傷；

弟兄們，我是說：時候不多了。從此以後，那有妻子的，要像沒有一樣；哀哭的，不像在哀哭；快樂的，不像在快樂；購買的，像一無所得；享受這世界的，不像在享受這世界；因為這世界的局面將要過去了。

那人領大衛下去，看哪，他們分散在全地面，吃喝跳舞，因為他們從非利士人的地和猶大地擄來的財物非常多。大衛擊殺他們，從黎明直到次日晚上，除了四百個騎駱駝逃走的青年之外，一個也沒有逃脫。
