在挪亞的日子怎樣，在人子的日子也必怎樣；人喫喝嫁娶，直到挪亞進樓船那一天，洪水一來，把他們都滅了。又好像在羅得的日子一樣；人喫喝買賣，栽種建造；

要端端正正而行，像在白晝之中，而不是在荒宴醉酒中，不是在好房事邪蕩中，也不是在紛爭妒忌中。總要穿上主耶穌基督為軍裝；別為肉體籌謀、去放縱私慾了。

大家就一樣地推辭。頭一個對他說：「我買了一塊田地，必須出去看看；求你准我辭。」另一個說：「我買了五對牛，要去試試；求你准我辭。」又另一個說：「我剛娶了妻，故此不能去」。

『你們要自己注意，恐怕你們的心受重壓在過度飲食醉酒和日常生活之掛慮中，那日子就如同網羅突然臨到你們了；

神子們看見人類的女子俊美，就隨意揀選娶為妻子。

亞比該到了拿八那裏，見他在家裏擺設筵席、如同王的筵席；拿八心裏自感高興，大醉極了；小事大事亞比該全都沒有告訴他、直等到次日早晨天亮的時候。到了早晨，拿八酒醉退了，他妻子才將這些事告訴他，他的心在五內就如死去，他就像石頭一般。過了十天、永恆主擊打了拿八，拿八就死了。

但那僕人若自己心裏說：「我主人必會遲延而來」，就動手擊打僮僕和使女，並且喫喝醉酒；

看哪，你妹妹所多瑪的罪孽是這樣：她和她的女兒們都狂妄傲慢，食物喫得太飽，大享安逸自得，並沒有扶助困苦貧窮人的手。她們自高自傲，在我面前行可厭惡的事，我看見便將她們除掉。

在復活的生活中，人也不娶，也不嫁，乃像天上的使者一樣。

然後對自己說，人哪，你有許多財物存放着、做許多年的用處；你安逸度日，喫喝快樂吧！」

當那日子、主萬軍之永恆主叫人哀哭號咷，頭上光禿，腰束麻布；但是你看，人倒歡躍喜樂，宰牛殺羊，喫肉喝酒，說：『只管喫喝吧！因為明天我們就死了！』然而萬軍之永恆主卻親自附耳啓示我，說：『這罪孽即到你們死了也不能得赦除』：這是主萬軍之永恆主說的。

挪亞就進樓船，也帶他的兒子、妻子、和兒媳婦、一同進去，要躲避洪流的水。

有禍啊那些擅自把災禍之日推遠，反把強暴之座位挪近的！有禍啊那些躺在象牙床上，在床榻上伸着懶腰，喫羣中現挑的羊羔，和棚間之肥牛犢的！那些應琵琶聲嘁嘁喳喳胡唱，還自己編製各種詩歌要媲美大衛的！那些以大碗喝酒，用上好的油抹身，卻不為約瑟的破敗而憂傷成病的！

這一點、弟兄們、我卻要說：時期縮短了。今後有妻子的、要像沒有一樣；哭泣的要像不哭泣；喜樂的要像不喜樂；置買的要像沒擁有甚麼；享用世界的、要像不一味享用。因為這世界的形態正在過去。

那人領大衛下去；只見他們都橫七豎八地臥在地面上，大家正喫喝歡躍地慶祝他們從非利士人之地和猶大地所拿來的那一大批掠物。大衛擊殺了他們，從黃昏直到晚上；除了四百個騎駱駝的青年人逃走之外，他們的人都沒有一個逃脫的。
