挪亞的日子怎樣，人子的日子也要怎樣。那時候的人又吃又喝，又娶又嫁，到挪亞進方舟的那日，洪水就來，把他們全都滅了。又好像羅得的日子；人又吃又喝，又買又賣，又耕種又蓋造。

行事為人要端正，好像行在白晝。不可荒宴醉酒；不可好色邪蕩；不可爭競嫉妒。總要披戴主耶穌基督，不要為肉體安排，去放縱私慾。

眾人一口同音地推辭。頭一個說：『我買了一塊地，必須去看看。請你准我辭了。』又有一個說：『我買了五對牛，要去試一試。請你准我辭了。』又有一個說：『我才娶了妻，所以不能去。』

「你們要謹慎，恐怕因貪食、醉酒，並今生的思慮累住你們的心，那日子就如同網羅忽然臨到你們；

神的兒子們看見人的女子美貌，就隨意挑選，娶來為妻。

亞比該到拿八那裏，見他在家裏設擺筵席，如同王的筵席；拿八快樂大醉。亞比該無論大小事都沒有告訴他，就等到次日早晨。到了早晨，拿八醒了酒，他的妻將這些事都告訴他，他就魂不附體，身僵如石頭一般。過了十天，耶和華擊打拿八，他就死了。

那僕人若心裏說：『我的主人必來得遲』，就動手打僕人和使女，並且吃喝醉酒；

看哪，你妹妹所多瑪的罪孽是這樣：她和她的眾女都心驕氣傲，糧食飽足，大享安逸，並沒有扶助困苦和窮乏人的手。她們狂傲，在我面前行可憎的事，我看見便將她們除掉。

當復活的時候，人也不娶也不嫁，乃像天上的使者一樣。

然後要對我的靈魂說：靈魂哪，你有許多財物積存，可作多年的費用，只管安安逸逸地吃喝快樂吧！』

當那日，主－萬軍之耶和華叫人哭泣哀號，頭上光禿，身披麻布。誰知，人倒歡喜快樂，宰牛殺羊，吃肉喝酒，說：我們吃喝吧！因為明天要死了。萬軍之耶和華親自默示我說：這罪孽直到你們死，斷不得赦免！這是主－萬軍之耶和華說的。

挪亞就同他的妻和兒子兒婦都進入方舟，躲避洪水。

你們以為降禍的日子還遠，坐在位上盡行強暴。你們躺臥在象牙牀上，舒身在榻上，吃羣中的羊羔，棚裏的牛犢；彈琴鼓瑟唱消閑的歌曲，為自己製造樂器，如同大衛所造的；以大碗喝酒，用上等的油抹身，卻不為約瑟的苦難擔憂。

弟兄們，我對你們說：時候減少了。從此以後，那有妻子的，要像沒有妻子；哀哭的，要像不哀哭；快樂的，要像不快樂；置買的，要像無有所得；用世物的，要像不用世物，因為這世界的樣子將要過去了。

那人領大衛下去，見他們散在地上，吃喝跳舞，因為從非利士地和猶大地所擄來的財物甚多。大衛從黎明直到次日晚上，擊殺他們，除了四百騎駱駝的少年人之外，沒有一個逃脫的。
