挪亚的时代怎样，人子的时代也是怎样。当时人们吃喝嫁娶，直到挪亚进入方舟的那一天，洪水来了，把他们全都灭掉。在罗得的时代也是这样，人们吃喝买卖，耕种建造，

行事为人要光明磊落，好像行在白昼。不可荒宴醉酒，不可放荡纵欲，不可纷争嫉妒。总要披戴主耶稣基督，不要为肉体安排，去放纵私欲。

众人一致推辞，头一个说：‘我买了一块地，不得不去看一看，请原谅我。’另一个说：‘我买了五对牛，要去试一试，请原谅我。’又一个说：‘我刚结了婚，不能去。’

“你们应当自己小心，免得在贪食醉酒和生活的挂虑压住你们的心的时候，那日子突然临到你们，

神的众子看见人的女子美丽，就随意挑选，娶作妻子。

亚比该到了拿八那里，他正在家中摆设筵席，好像帝王的筵席一样。拿八心里畅快，喝得烂醉如泥，所以无论大事小事亚比该都没有告诉他，直到第二天早晨。到了早晨，拿八酒醒了，他的妻子才把这些事告诉他，他就吓得魂不附体，立刻中风瘫痪了。大约过了十天，耶和华击打拿八，他就死了。

如果那仆人心里说：‘我的主人不会那么快回来’，就动手打其他的仆人使女，并且吃喝醉酒；

你妹妹所多玛的罪孽是这样：她和她的女儿们都骄傲自大，粮食丰足，生活安逸，却没有帮助困苦和贫穷的人。她们自高自傲，在我面前行了可憎的事；我看见了，就把她们除掉。

复活的时候，人们也不娶也不嫁，而是像天上的使者一样。

然后，我要对我的灵魂说：灵魂啊，你拥有许多好东西，足够多年享用，只管安安逸逸地吃喝快乐吧！’

到那日，主万军之耶和华叫人哭泣哀号，剃光头发，穿上麻布。看哪！人还是欢喜快乐，宰牛杀羊，吃肉喝酒，说：“我们吃喝吧！因为明天我们就要死了。”万军之耶和华亲自启示我说：“直到你们死的时候，这罪孽也不得赦免。”这是主万军之耶和华说的。

挪亚带着他的儿子、妻子和儿媳一同进了方舟，躲避洪水。

你们认为灾祸的日子离开很远，你们的行为却招致残暴的审判。你们卧在象牙床上，躺在榻上；你们吃羊群中的羊羔，和牛棚里的牛犊。你们闲逸地弹琴奏乐，又为自己制造乐器，像大卫一样。你们用大碗喝酒，用最贵重的膏油抹身；但你们并没有为约瑟的败落而痛心。

弟兄们，我是说时候不多了。从今以后，有妻子的要像没有妻子的，哀哭的要像不哀哭的，快乐的要像不快乐的，买了东西的要像一无所得的，享用世上百物的要像没有享用的一样，因为这世上的情况都要过去。

他带大卫下去。匪徒们都分散在各处，正在吃喝、跳舞，因为他们从非利士地和犹大地抢来的战利品很多。大卫击杀他们，从黄昏直到次日的晚上。除了四百个骑骆驼的年轻人逃跑了以外，他们当中一个人也没有逃脱。
